nfluential Republicans pledged Wednesday to support Christine O'Donnell's general election campaign after party leaders initially turned their backs on the Tea Party candidate following her upset win in the Delaware Senate primary.
O'Donnell's rise from obscurity to victory over longtime Rep. Mike Castle had sent Republican honchos in Delaware and Washington into a state of political shock. Aides for the top fundraising arm for Senate Republicans said Tuesday she would not be getting help from them -- a reaction that raised concern the party would torpedo its chances at a congressional takeover out of spite.
But National Republican Senatorial Committee Chairman John Cornyn said in a written statement Wednesday that O'Donnell would have NRSC support as well as the maximum $42,000 donation from the organization.
"Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee -- and I personally as the committee's chairman -- strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O'Donnell in Delaware," Cornyn said.

After they trashed her through the State GOP!
Get rid of Cornyn.
Yeh now that they have received about a trillion nasty grams from the outraged public. I sent mine out to the RNSC a couple of hours ago and rounded it out with a cryptic email to Karl Rove.
Oh my to late, we know who you are, we are keeping a list and checking twice........
Somebody is reading Free Republic.
Delaware only has 3 counties (plus city of Wilmington / Rat Hole):
..........................BIDEN......O'DONNEL
WILMINGTON:.........25,920......3,367
RURAL New Castle:..151,150.....66,124
KENT:.........................37,074.....27,981
SUSSEX:....................43,395.....43,123
TOTALS:..................257,539....140,595
"Wait, wait, there go my people . . . . I must follow them!"
Who cares? They had their snit, if they’re going to do the right thing and start to follow the voters, I don’t know why people are freaking out. I’ve been critical of O’Donnell, but I want her to beat the dem. If these country clubbers want in, she’ll take their money (or should).
Cornhole is now scared for his job, following the open revolt against him.
The NRSC slight of ODonnell after she clinched the GOP nomination was the straw that broke the camels back.
Its too late, Cornhole.
The entire GOP power structure is now in the crosshairs, thanks to the anti-Republican behavior of Michael Steal, John Cornhole, and Karl Rove.
The Tea Party candidates are now the Republican candidates.
We will not tolerate insurrection against the Partys standard bearers from the endangered RINOs on their way out the door.
They will support here now because they think that anyone they support is going into the tank.
If I were her I would give them the finger and tell them to say hi to Michelle Obama for her.
Republican party is crap. I love all the upset speeches by the RINO’s who are getting the boot. They see the real groundswell of people and are genuinely just as afraid as the Democraps are.
“Let there be no mistake: The National Republican Senatorial Committee — and I personally as the committee’s chairman — strongly stand by all of our Republican nominees, including Christine O’Donnell in Delaware,” Cornyn said.”
Gee, EVEN old Christine, John? Screw you.
Take their money then tell them to go to hell.
I know what they’re up to. They think they can help her win and she will then fall right into line. And, sadly, that could happen. It certainly happened with Cornyn. He talked a good game while running for election.
Last night they messed their underwear. This morning they are thinking of ways they can keep their blankity-blank jobs.
Welcome to the big tent boys! :o)
Sent this note to the SRSC this morning before they changed their tune:
“Unless you have changed your opinion about getting behind O’Donnell, you and the RNC will never see another dime from me. In fact, the money i intended on donating to the RNC this year will be going directly to Joe Miller, Rand Paul and Christine O’Donnell. I don’t know what world you are living in, but its not reflective of what conservatives want. You are causing division and showing yourselves not to be interested in conservatism, but party politics. You are making yourselves illegitimate in the eyes of millions with your support of candidates that people don’t want. You do so at your own peril. Your support of people like McCain and Castle is what cost you the elections in 2006 and 2008. You are out of touch. I’d rather have a pure conservative GOP that has integrity in its beliefs than a GOP in power that doesn’t represent its voters. I strongly suggest that for the future of your party, and this country, you get behind Rand Paul, Joe Miller and Christine O’Donnell. You are now being viewed as the “establishment”, and if you haven’t noticed, the people are sick of the ‘establishment’.
Sincerely, and with hope you will find the light,
Myname”

The feces hit the fan during the overnight flood of phone calls.
You betcha'!
Id rather have a pure conservative GOP that has integrity in its beliefs than a GOP in power that doesnt represent its voters.
EXACTLY! A true conservative minority can do a lot of damage against the liberals through voting procedures.
Watch out for a stab in the back from them. Through Rove they have made their position clear. From this point forward, they are only feeling for a soft spot to plunge the knife.
