WikiLeaks Collaborating With Media Outlets on Release of Iraq Documents Cited As Biggest Leak Ever
Newsweek ^ | September 10, 2010 | Joe Raedle

Posted on 09/09/2010 9:15:04 PM PDT by lbryce

A London-based journalism nonprofit is working with the WikiLeaks Web site and TV and print media in several countries on programs and stories based on what is described as massive cache of classified U.S. military field reports related to the Iraq War. Iain Overton, editor of The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, tells Declassified that his organization has teamed up with media organizations—including major television networks and one or more American media outlets—in an unspecified number of countries to produce a set of documentaries and stories based on the cache of Iraq War documents in the possession of WikiLeaks. As happened with a similar WikiLeaks collection of tens of thousands of U.S. military field reports on the Afghan war, the unidentified media organizations involved with the London group in the Iraq documents project will all be releasing their stories on the same day, which Overton says would be several weeks from now. He declined to identify any of the media organizations participating in the project.

Overton acknowledges that the volume of Iraq War reports that WikiLeaks has made available for the project is massive, and almost certainly more than the 92,000 Afghan field reports the organization made available for advance review to The New York Times, Britain's Guardian, and Germany's Der Spiegel. The material is the "biggest leak of military intelligence" that has ever occurred, Overton says.

From The Article.
As we reported when stories on WikiLeaks' Afghan holdings first appeared, the site's stash of Iraq documents is believed to be about three times as large as its Afghanistan collection. After the Times, Guardian, and Der Spiegel published their stories based on the Afghan war documents, the site itself posted 76,000 of the papers. But after coming under criticism from both Pentagon spokesmen and human-rights activists for publishing information that could jeopardize the lives of Afghans cooperating with American and allied forces, WikiLeaks said it would not itself post the remaining 15,000 Afghan war documents until activists had taken some time to review, and, if necessary, edit sensitive information from the material.

I guess assassinating these creeps is something our government would consider to be out of the question.

I’m not sure about the new leaks, but the initial leaks were from an Army Fag who didn’t think his fellow people in the Army were sufficiently respectful of his sexual orientation.

Maybe the government is just leaking these retards mountains of junk documents in an effort to overwhelm them with meaningless information. I don’t recall any revelations coming out of this.

TV media outlets?

Oh you mean the 5 out of 6 U.S. TV networks that have MAJOR Saudi shareholders (the King of Saudia Arabia’s nephew aka his proxy) and business/joint ventures in Saudi Arabia, UAE, et al?

Treason as an online source of revenue.

100 years ago, they’d be publicly hanged. The laws are the same, but the political center of America has shifted.

And it continuing to shift, as we speak. Fortunately for America, the pendulum is swinging back to the right, now.

Don't worry. These traitors' deeds will not go unpunished.

The lack of real action on this is rather frustrating.

I got an email not long ago warning me not to look at WikiLeaks at all. So, today, I was trying to find a specific (unclassified) government document, and one of the places it was located was at WikiLeaks. Luckily, it was also available at several other sites.

The President wants the power to switch off the Internet almost on a whim... I guess I should be relieved that the government cannot shut down even a single site.

How can you say that about our president in a time of two wars and economic melt down left by George Bush?

He wouldn't SELL that to them, he would most certainly GIVE that information to them.

I am guessing there is something seriously wrong in our military classified information system. No one should have access to this much information what with need to know and all. OR is there really so many traitors in our military and in the defense contractor community? Is America truly rotting from the inside? Some days I think we have it coming.........This should make the libtards have an organism what with their hate of all wars and the military in general. I truly believe the left loonies get their jollies off when they see bad things happen to the US Military.

Man I wish I had your optimism. When I see people like Jane Fonda, Bill Ayers, John Kerry, etc.,etc. still walking around free, I have doubts.

The American people stood mute and took it in the groin from the leftists for half a century, but that's all changing now. What Nixon once called "The Silent Majority" is no longer silent. They're organizing and holding Tea Parties now.

The effect on politics of the newly motivated American center-right can't be overstated. It's a peaceful revolution that is totally upending the status quo and the ruling class.

Leftist traitors had better start planning for the day we come for them. And we are coming for them.
