I spent 3 years interning at a Fed agency while going to college. I know from first hand expereince the difference.

For example,

Federal Employees get double the number of pay holidays then private sector workers. 13 to 6. That is a whole extra paid week off every single year. So right there Fed workers work less hours, for more pay, then their private sector counterparts.

Anyone can quickly and easily discover how many paid federal holidays there are for federal employees at the reference at the end of this statement. I think you are confounding “federal holidays” with “annual leave ~ that is paid vacation of 13 days ~ not terribly different than the private sector, and even with senior employees earning 26 days per year, nothing like AFL-CIO-UAW vacations STARTING at 12 weeks per annum. BTW, my count is that there are 10 federal holidays, 6 of which are NOT WIDELY OBSERVED ~ but that’s between you and your boss.
