I’m confused...why would one call 911 if the police are already there?

I think they sometimes say “hang on the line until help arrives”, and then things happened real (too) fast.

It is standard practice for most agencies to have the dispatcher try to keep 911 callers on the line until they know the responders are on scene. Doesn’t alwalys happen that way for any number of reasons.
