"He said I know this is going to be lead to some, quote, difficulty for the guys who work on those rigs.
Well, if he thinks that some guys on the rigs are the only people that are going to be affected by a six-month oil moratorium, hes out of his cotton-picking mind."

I love Rodney Allen Rippey.
The saying "cotton pickin", was around LONG before anyone thought to clean up the 'f' word by saying 'frickin', instead.
LOL! Advertising FAIL!
OMG he didn’t say that?
Some of us already knew this!
George Patton is a liberal by FR standards, and I've even been told off myself from time to time.
No, according to Juan McAmnesty, illegals pick lettuce, in Yuma, for only pennies because no American citizen will pick lettuce for even $50/hour.
I take great umbrage to your racist comment regarding “frickin”.
That is an insult to all us fricks.
Oh. Wait. You said frick, not d*ck.
“That’s racist” or any other “victimhood” is just a shield to prevent the discussion of policies and issues.
The left actually NEVER argues their policies in the realm of “works” or “doesn’t work”. They always use their human shields to avoid these discussions.
My wife buys Vogue.
I read Julia’s articles.
She did donate to Wicker and Cao.
yes...this is a hard room
I’m white and I picked cotton in the early sixties. In fact, where I picked cotton I never saw a black person in the field. There was only us white ni........
It’s shi_ _g in tall cotton. Or Sh__ing in the tall grass with the big dogs.
Rick James, b**ch!
He is an Islamo-marxist. People keep thinking he is rational and incompetent. He is competent about destroying the USA. He and his Saudi/Soros/elite/other backers know exactly what they want.
This is coming from the left....Newsweek...see the outrage..........and double standards? =.=
You must grasp the fine points of journalism and consider them carefully.
Recall if you will that the left wing Newsweak, the home to the Clinton sex object on the ‘68 Rat convention sidewalk, Eleanor Clift, is up for sale. Rupert teaches that fair and balanced sells.
This is an attempt at a little balance. Jobs are at stake!
It’s a Buggs Bunnyism!
“Jobs” are nothing but a political catch phrase with this current Jack Squat administration....how can this be about “jobs”....how can this Jack Squat adminstration tout “jobs” when in every breath they tout “jobs,” they are literally eliminating/killing them...purposely....all one has to do is look south to the Gulf Coast....see the oil...and the oil drilling oritorium attached to that still flowing, uncapped oil.......heading around Florida and up the East Coast....yeah...it’s all about those “jobs” and saving them....yeppers....=.=
I didn’t read your original post closely enough
: > )
Instead of leftist writers grasping at straws, they should gather the straw and soak up some oil with it!
I don’t know if he was the first to use it, but Tennessee Ernie Ford sure did popularize “cotton-pickin.’”
What a maroon!
Indeed. My grandparents used that term all the time. So did my Dad.
You are of course correct however....
The topic is News Weak.
The jobs are Newsweak jobs. Perhaps by writing a piece that is not according to the party line, News Weak and thus News Weak jobs can be salvaged.
There is no limit to their insanity.
Cut Reed some slack.
Cotton pickers run on oil.
Thanks to 0bama, we’re going to have to turn the clock back a couple hundred years and have our cotton picked by hand again.
Picking cotton is a miserable job isn’t it? You’ve got to be a little out of your mind to do it. Hot, sweaty back breaking work with your hands and arms being sliced and diced by those hard boles.
Actually the saying is, he is in high cotton, meaning a good crop and therefore money.
Some guys actually were charged with a hate crime for spreading cotton balls on the lawn of some perpetually aggrieved student center.
That was at Mizzou and I think criminally they got of with “litterin” but the University hadn’t yet decided what to do with them.
