Sarah Palin: Let’s shake it up in California! (Sarah endorses Carly Fiorina - Huh?)
Facebook ^ | Sarah Palin

Posted on 05/06/2010 12:29:51 PM PDT by FightforFreedomCA

I’d like to tell you about a Commonsense Conservative running for office in California this year. She grew up in a modest home with a school teacher dad, worked her way through several colleges, and then entered an arena where few women had tread. Through a combination of hard work, perseverance, and common sense, she proved the naysayers wrong to reach the top of her field, where she led with distinction – facing hard truths, making tough decisions, and showing real leadership through a rocky transition period. Where others had failed, her company had weathered the storm and settled on a stronger new foundation.

Her name is Carly Fiorina, and I’m proud to endorse her for U.S. Senate.

Carly is the Commonsense Conservative that California needs and our country could sure use in these trying times. Most importantly, she’s running for the right reasons. She has an understanding that is sorely lacking in D.C. She’s not a career politician. She’s a businesswoman who has run a major corporation. She knows how to really incentivize job creation. Her fiscal conservatism is rooted in real life experience. She knows that when government grows, the private sector shrinks under the burden of debt and deficits. We can trust Carly to do the right thing for America’s economy and to make the principled decisions she has throughout her professional career.

Please consider that Carly is the conservative who has the potential to beat California’s liberal senator, Barbara Boxer, in November. I’m a huge proponent of contested primaries, so I’m glad to see the contest in California’s GOP, but I support Carly as she fights through a tough primary against a liberal member of the GOP who seems to bear almost no difference to Boxer, one of the most leftwing members of the Senate. Carly needs our support in this crucial election year when we have a real chance of putting an end to the Pelosi/Reid “Big Government” agenda.

I hope you’ll join me in supporting Carly. Visit her website here, and follow her on Facebook and Twitter. Read up on her positions and plans to help get us on the right track.

California is still Reagan Country, and Carly promises her “Reagan Conservative” values will be put to good use for her state and for our great nation. Shaking it up in California is long overdue. Let’s help Carly do it!

Carly is the only one that can beat Tom Campbell with 4 weeks to go in the race, and the money to make use of those four weeks.

If conservatives spent the next 4 weeks donating to DeVore and volunteering for him, then Chuck can win. Fiorina is no better than Campbell. Remember this:

Fiorina: There is a "racist tone" to immigration debate.

Campbell, DeVore Support AZ Immigration Law, Fiorina Undecided

Well, the citizens of California don’t. I guess we should certainly back her though. Sarah said we should. Now fall in line like a good little peckerhead... (ah, no thanks) ;-)

Are you saying we can never meet eye to eye with liberals on anything> we cant walk side by side with fellow Americans on any subject, even if we agree?

What do you mean, "even if we agree?" I do NOT agree with the envirotards on "global warming." It's an evil, anti-human cult, and Newt bought into it, completely conceding the premise. I'm saying we can NOT surrender to the lefties on "global warming." Newt's already done so.

That is why we are in the mess we are in.

We're in the mess we're in because we don't spend enough time acting as Nancy Pelosi's poodles? Bull.

On Carly’s entrance into the race, [Chuck] Devore called her an establishment Republican.

“Carly Fiorina was recruited by the establishment, for the establishment. She already has a $3.5 million house in DC, in the Georgetown region, that she bought back in 2005 – after she was fired from Hewlett Packard. She’s been measuring the drapes in the US Senate for some time now.”

“She’s a moderate, all the press accounts properly call her a centrist, a moderate, a pragmatist. Look at the people endorsing her. You’re going to get Olympia Snowe; you get Susan Collins, Lyndsey Graham. She’s backed by the moderate DC establishment.”

On Carly’s bailout and stimulus comments, DeVore states that she is supportive of Barack Obama and Barbara Boxer.

“This is John McCain’s chief economic advisor, at a time when John McCain suspended his campaign and went back and voted for the disastrous troubled asset relief program that bailed out Wall Street. And many political pundants believe that’s when John McCain lost his campaign, when he joined Barack Obama and George W. Bush in fundamentally overturning the free market system with money borrowed from China.”

On Carly’s comments in the past, Devore references her columns in the business trade magazines.

“She says she’s against the stimulus, but if you read the trade publications that she has written for, she has said things like (about Obama’s stimulus) her comment that no money went to bio-tech and it all went to roads, or she also said that it was good that millions went to the broadband industry.”

On Carly’s support of “Cap and Trade”, DeVore references her bi-partisan stance with Senator Lyndsey Graham.

“She has said good things about “Cap and Trade”, and praised Senator Lyndsey Graham’s supposedly bi-partisan work with John Kerry, one of the most liberal members of the Senate, over his “Cap and Trade” energy tax; that Barbara Boxer is now pushing through Congress.”

On Carly’s support of government regulation of the Internet, DeVore mentions her desire for more regulations.

“She was very clearly asked by the interviewer; do you believe there needs to be more government control, and or regulation of the Internet? And you heard her – with her own words – that she is for more government oversight of the Internet.”

“There’s big difference between regulating content and free speech on the Internet and going after actual criminals. You see, anything that is illegal in real life is still illegal online, like child pornography. Is she intimating that women need protection from free speech online? Or that a woman that voluntarily agrees to be photographed in certain suggestive posses, that she needs protection from big government; to come in and tell her that she shouldn’t do that? With free speech comes personal responsibilities.”

“I also believe she made a difference in McCain’s “transformation” to conservative in AZ...but how long will it hold???”

She didn’t help his ‘transformation’...there is no change in McCain, just more lies. We know he’s a liar...why doesn’t she...or maybe she doesn’t care. She boosted McCAin’s poll numbers in Arizona, she’s done her damage there, now on to California!!!

I couldn’t describe it better myself. The Conservative political landscape IS in ruins. It’s so bad that a Tea Party had to erupt from nowhere, because nobody but nobody was representing Conservative ideals.

Why did that happen if RINOs in positions of authority was good for Conservatism?

The GOP has so severely jumped the shark, it’s just pathetic to defend it any longer.

It’s a law of nature than any void will be filled. There is a massive void in Conservative leadership and backbone, and I’m going to point it out at every opportunity.

I want my nation back, and I want it NOW.

“But then you knew this right?”

I know that your state legislature is run by the hard left, and they were voted there by your neighbors.

I can’t even read through this thread....because I KNOW there will STILL be koolaid drinkers making excuses for her. She has become PART OF THE PROBLEM, NOT the solution.

If it is what you think everytime Sarah makes a move, then you were NEVER a Palin voter 2012 anyway! Either you TRUST her or you don't. You cannot change your mind everytime she sneezes - She is Sarah Palin - we know who she is - what she has done et al. So her choices certainly are the best to get the most seats we can get (but the McCain stuff...but that's character also and that's important - character is important).

She WILL have my vote whatever choices she makes. I know she is the ONLY one who can restore our country and have the guts to do what it takes - And that's guts to choose Florina - she knows you will be upset but she also knows what's best and WHO can win against baxter.

ESPECIALLY in California

Or in Massachussetts, right? Oh, wait....

This year, in this climate, a conservative can beat Boxer. A very conservative guy lost to her in 1988 due to a last minute dirty trick. California passed prop 187 in 1994, passed the anti-gay marriage law in 2008. It has terrible unemployment. They haven't given illegals the vote YET. Devore can win, but not if people give in to the party elite at the outset. Go along with them if they win the primary, but don't cave in to the RNC when they tell us at the beginning who they want. Take the party back or those of us who are conservative will have to leave at some point.

How do you think Marco Rubio is going to win? Let me clue you in: Charlie Crist is WAYYYYY more conservative than Fiorina. Look at his record. And look at hers.

Don't believe in messiahs. There is no one who is the "ONLY one".

There are a few good conservatives. She was on my list, and this is the first time she really disappointed me. I hope she doesn't make it a habit. But I also don't believe in building a cult of personality around her.

I’m voting for Devore, but it is going to take alot of money and name recognition to beat boxer and icarly may be in a better position to win in Nov. Still, I don’t see the point of SP becoming involved in this primary fight.

Sounds like Sarah has viewed the race, discounted DeVore’s chances, doesn’t like Campbell at all and has decided to use her political capital to back the one she thinks will be Boxer’s opponent.

FWIW, I’ll cast my primary vote for DeVore, but vote AGAINST BOXER in the general election.

“....So her choices certainly are the best to get the most seats we can get.....”

I think we need to decide who the hell “WE’ are! This is a CONSERVATIVE forum, not a RINO forum, right??? Or is it??

Sarah, evidently, has made up her mind to support rinos over conservatives, which is what got us in this entire mess. The public is largely CONSERVATIVE. Instead of allowing any vetting of these candidates during a primary, some of you, including Palin, insist we settle for the same old crappola, election after election. I’m tired of the RINO’s running everything while being pushed and propped up by the likes of Palin. She’s become a camelion, I can’t tell what she’s about any more.
