The Pubs had better make this a fight.
This can be a real election year boon if they fight obama’s radical nominees...

That is a big IF. They should bork the nominee. The nominee will definitely have enough leftist radicalism in his past to ensure lots of trash coming out before the hearings.

No doubt the maoist has been pressuring this justice to retire.

By waiting till the summer there is little chance that a replacement will be confirmed before the elections.

That said, this gives us a chance to delineate the difference between the far left and the true constitutionalists.

There’s probably too much time until next January for it to be stalled that long....that’s 9 months.

I agree... They should also use all procedural maneuvers (sp?) to slow this down so that it clogs all of the other socialists programs Nobama wants to press while he still has his majorities. So let this add to the agenda (cap and tax, submission to the Russians on nukes treaty, financial regulatory reform, etc. etc.) so that nothing gets done.

Just in time for the health crimes lawsuits.

BO’s boss knows their days in power are numbered—stacking the court means we can be oppressed & abused for decades to come.

Notice he couldn’t wait till Nov when repubs have some control.

Let’s see if any of them grow a spine this summer pre election.

I wonder if someone was promised a seat on the court in exchange for their health care vote - perhaps Harry Reid?

Also, does any know if the replacement vote can be delayed until after the November midterm?

I agree. Plus, it will force the rats to spend a lot of time fighting about this. Meanwhile, they won’t be able to commit other sins. Hopefully, it will keep the senate all tied up for two or three months.

With the gloves off as well. Start calling these people out for the anti-Americans that they are. Call them Marxist's and Communists. Bring up the Communist Manifesto, keep hammering on it.

The Republicans have already sent word to Obama, not to appoint another ideologue. The president is going to try to rush through before the election in November. Our best hope is to hold off any nomination until next year, when the Democrats will lose control of Congress and hopefully the Senate.

Many here are calling for the pubbies to play hard ball.

No, not hard ball . . . Extreme Fighting. No holds barred.

Sessions, Hatch, Grassley, Kyl, Graham, Cornyn, Coburn - they all should be getting tens of thousands of phone calls daily telling them to not let anyone through who is not a moderate Democrat, to the right of Stevens.

Nobody to the left of Stevens gets through.

And if that turd Graham won’t go along, then McConnell needs to remove him from the committee.

Extreme Fighting, my FRiends.

I wouldn’t expect much from Republican RINOs, but they finally did vote no on Onadacare—or was that because Nancy didn’t need their votes? November is not far off. One can only hope enough of them are rejected and replaced with conservatives to actually change the dynamic in Washington.

I demand total and complete obstruction of any obama nominee as was done to us on all judges during Bush and in full continuation of the political war to save this country. NO MERCY!!

I'm reading this at BigGovernment.com

The timing of his announcement leaves ample time for the White House to settle on a successor and Senate Democrats, who control 59 votes, to conduct confirmation hearings and a vote.

Republicans have not ruled out an attempt to delay confirmation.

THEY BETTER FIGHT THIS!

Republicans have already won a small victory- Dawn Johnsen, Obama’s nominee for a Justice Department position, withdrew her nomination. This may mean that Obama decides to avoid controversy.
