Damn! Damn! Damn!
This was probably the BEST chance of the next Republican President being able to change the Court to a Conservative majority. Now we’re going to get some 30-year-old whose parents lived to be 100 who’ll never retire unless a democrat is President.
Damn! Damn! Damn!

I love all of these retiring announcements come out on a Friday...weasels.

Old liberal fool Stevens should have been gone long ago. Picked by a Republican and now he chooses to leave with a Marxist as president. What a worthless SC pick he’s been to America!

I don’t think that we have anything to worry about. Even an ultra-liberal replacement will not change the ideological composition of the Court.
Same goes if Ginsburg retires ...
The one ya gotta watch is if one of the 4 conservatives or if Kennedy goes - THAT is the fight we want to win ...

It took Bush 8 years to get two nominations.
0bama hasn’t even been in office two years and has two nominations.
Don’t tell me the judges aren’t ideologues. They have been holding out for a liberal to take office. Hope the conservative judges do the same.

One thing we know, his replacement will not be a straight, white male.

President Barack Obama now has his second high court opening to fill. Third.

That pretty much confirms the believe that the Dem's will lose the senate in November.
Have to fight off this decision until after the elections whatever they do.

Stevens said Friday he will step down when the court finishes its work for the summer in late June or early July. He said he hopes his successor is confirmed "well in advance of the commencement of the court's next term."The Republicans should make this confirmation last through the November election.

President Barack Obama now has his second high court opening to fill. Unfortunately, it's his third. The affirmative action choice in Sotomayor and a lackey in Kagan.
This is why I held my nose for Romney. We get another f'up for 25 years.

This is his third, not second supreme. He has already given us the wise latina and Kegel. I can’t wait for the next one....
