Schieffer Says Resignation Will Stop Sarah From Running
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Bob Schieffer predicts that Newt Gingrich will make a run for the presidency and Sara Palin won’t.

Appearing on The Early Show today, Schieffer saw Palin’s resignation as Alaska governor as too big of a political obstacle in the primaries. Here’s how the Face The Nation host imagined a GOP primary opponent putting it to Palin in a debate:

Schieffer is an insufferable leftist.

Who really cares what he say?

Except as a contrarian indicator. :)

The reality show will be too big an obstacle.

What reality show?

“He’s almost right. The reality show will be too big an obstacle.”

“Sarah’s biggest obstacle to running is her endorsement and campaigning for McCain, not her resignation from the Governor’s office.”

I agree. She has state, local, and exeutive experience. She has a record of cost cutting, pro-drilling, toughness, and could you imagine terrorists seeing photos of her holding a hunting rifle with dead animals?

She’s been out campaigning for Bachmann as well as McStain. She also is campaigning for a little known war hero. That’s just information I bumped into. God only knowsw how much GOOD she is doing right now other than McStain.

The only thing predictable about Sarah Palin: The revulsion she inspires by those “in the know”. The whole schtick is tiresome. For months, now, Palin’s demise has been foretold in ominous tones and what amounts to cluck-clucking church gossip.

Sarah Palin is still here.

And she’s going to be around. And she can run in 2012 if she wants to. And she will get the nomination if she beats everyone else running. And that is entirely possible.

Uhhhh, you need to check your facts before posting such an inept comment based on fantasy and not facts.

1. It's a documentary - not a "reality show".

2. It's another channel that allows Sarah to present herself to America & bypass the marxist media's "filter".

3. Her continuing to correctly comment on BO's continuing failures keeps her in the news and living rent-free in BO's head.

She's running and WILL be the nominee...and President IF the ACORN voter fraud is controlled and Amnesty is not passed.

“Sarah’s biggest obstacle to running is her endorsement and campaigning for McCain”

And any dip in popularity she got from that should be over with and done. She did her part out of respect and now she seems to be moving on. People that will continue to hold that against her for the next 31 months never liked her in the first place.

Even liberal David Carr of the New York Times wrote a begrudgingly admiringing comment about her stepping down. He could see she was not going anyplace but Up!

quote...

“Instead, she quit her day job and proceeded to become a one-woman national media empire, with the ratings and lucre to show for it.”

“......if Obama moved to the center and became popular again.....”

After his communist “healthcare” takeover and hundreds of other outrages, it’s too late for Hussein. A leopard doesn’t change his spots.

Obama is a far-left Marxist and his moving to the center would be about as likely as a flying saucer landing on the White House lawn this afternoon.

It’s not a “reality show.”

It’s an 8-part travel log on the Discovery Channel featuring the wonders of Alaska.

“Fact is, the last thing any of her competitors would want to do is remind the voters of the cr*p she had to endure at the hands of Soros-funded activists and the media.”

True, The same goes for the O thug machine. I am sure Sarah has more than connected the dots to who was behind all the ethic complaints. If and when this is laid out in public Sarah will be sitting pretty.

What people forget is Sarah was not going to run for re-election. Why did Sarah decide NOT to run for a second term. Sarah has never answered this question.

I know that many here love Sarah, and I understand that.
I also understand that she will lose 34 states if we are obtuse enough to elect another candidate who will lose large.

Sarah - and Newt for that matter - have great places as conservative powerbrokers & political stumpers.
Not as credible candidates to defeat Obama Hussein.

Who damn near might be unbeatable by anyone that the GOP puts forth.
Now the House is another matter, but nobody here needs to whistle past the graveyard in the same manner that they did in the epic fail of 08.

What we need is less wishful thinking and more people who understand the electoral map and how to master it.

She may be better suited to keeping the left distracted and constantly aghast

<><><><><

IMO, the only reason this is working for her is the threat that she is running. If she chooses not to run, I’m not sure that the voice in the wilderness thing will continue to work. She can still pundit on Fox, but her power and influence would be much less. Just a thought.
