Randy Neugebauer: I yelled 'baby killer'
Politico ^ | 03/22/10 | JAKE SHERMAN

Texas Republican Rep. Randy Neugebauer was the mysterious lawmaker that shouted “baby killer” during Rep. Bart Stupak’s (D-Mich.) floor speech Sunday night, his office said Monday.

Rumors that Neugebauer was the yeller began swirling Sunday night, after several lawmaker surmised that the scream was tinted with a southern accent.

“Last night was the climax of weeks and months of debate on a health care bill that my constituents fear and do not support,” Neugebauer said in a news release. “In the heat and emotion of the debate, I exclaimed the phrase ‘it’s a baby killer’ in reference to the agreement reached by the Democratic leadership. While I remain heartbroken over the passage of this bill and the tragic consequences it will have for the unborn, I deeply regret that my actions were mistakenly interpreted as a direct reference to Congressman Stupak himself.”

>> We’re so evil, yelling “baby killer” as opposed to the dems voting tax money to kill babies.

We’ll be taxed to kill babies. So, who’s facilitating the killing of babies?

He should not apologize. He ought to make a stronger statement. When, when will we get some elected official with stones enough to say the truth and not apologize?

Stupak is the one who should be apologizing for taking the nation on his personal one week joy ride.

Why apologize? I’d love to have 10 minutes on the floor with CSPAN camera’s on... I’d use every 4 letter word in every imaginable combination and tone along with hand gestures to match and the only thing not beeped out would be, “NO I WILL NO YIELD THE REST OF MY TIME TO ANY OF THESE..” and then continue on.

Stupak did not make abortion legal for heavens sakes...what he asked for was a bill that made sure the taxpayers did not pay for ELECTIVE abortions. I do not want my tax dollars to pay for anyone’s ELECTIVE abortion. My daughter is 38. She has a friend, who by the age of 30, had five....FIVE...elective abortions. And..by the same doctor. What doctor would do this? Why did he not tie her tubes? I certainly do not want to pay one cent for her elective abortions!

What is there to apologize for?

What he shoudl have said:

I am sorry Stupak didn’t get the point and vote wis his concious in mind and instead sold out for 700,000 pieces of silver. And I am sorry to the American people that this Abomination of a bill was passed.”

For yelling it. Stupak did not have anything to do with abortion being a legal procedure. I do not understand why people are upset with him. Please read my above post..And...hello Frogjerk.

“Stupak beleives the Executive order means something. EO’s don’t trump Federal law”

Wouldn’t it have been awesome if they could have, say, back when Reagan was in office? “You say I can’t fund the Contras? Oh, really? BOOM! Now I can.”
