John Patrick Bedell: Did right-wing extremism lead to shooting? ("It begins"-AllahPundit)
Christian Science Monitor ^ | 3-5-10 | Peter Grier

The Pentagon attack and the destruction at the IRS building in Austin, Texas, come at a time of explosive growth in extremist-group activism across the United States, according to the Southern Poverty Law Center, which tracks such organizations.

The number of US extremist paramilitary militias grew from 42 in 2008 to 127 in 2009, according to a just-released SPLC annual report.

So-called “Patriot” groups, steeped in antigovernment conspiracy theories, grew from 149 in 2008 to 512 in 2009 – an increase that the SPLC report judges as “astonishing.”

John Patrick Bedell, whom authorities identified as the gunman in the Pentagon shooting on Thursday, appears to have been a right-wing extremist with virulent antigovernment feelings.

But writings by someone with his same name and birth date, posted on the Internet, express ill will toward the government and the armed forces and question whether Washington itself might have been behind the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

I don’t know any right-wing whatever’s that subscribe to such things. We support the armed forces, we support a Constitutional government, and we understand exactly who attacked us on 9/11.

The entire paragraph relates to left wing extremists. Incredible. Just incredible propaganda from CSmonitor.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is nothing more than a Ku Klux Klan against conservative Americans, especially white conservative Americans.

The SPLC is one the bigeest purveyors of hate out there....anything quoted from, or used in media mentioning this hate group...is nothing but pure bunk.

The SPLC also aligns itself with certain racist groups....notably La Raza

"I desire to... illustrate the use of cannabis as a monetary system."

PROOF he is a leftie. A wingnut would be demanding a gold-based currency.
