Video: CPAC boos speaker for condemning invite to gay conservative group (CPAC to SoCons:"Get lost")

"While I was flipping through the autobiography, a woman approached the booth. Catherine Sumner, it turned out, was part of GOProud, a group of openly gay Republicans and conservatives that for the first time is taking part in CPAC. “Is this your flyer?” Sumner demanded, waving the white and green pamphlet. Thus launched a debate about gays in the military that pretty much ended when the booth attendee told her that homosexuality is a sin and she’s going to hell.

“It’s insulting,” Sumner, 31, who edits a military magazine, said turning away. “Across the board the reaction to GOProud’s presence here has been positive, but then you have guys like this. Even Dick Cheney came out and says he supports us. Conservatives have to be more inclusive, they have to be.” In fact, just one group, Liberty University, boycotted CPAC over the inclusion of GOProud, though the Catholic crowd weren’t the only ones unnerved by their presence: one booth down from GOProud’s set up in the fourth row, those manning the National Organization for Marriage, which works to ban gay marriage, kept casting nervous – and slightly envious – glances at the somewhat larger crowd surrounding GOProud’s booth.

The tensions didn’t end there. Along the back wall 2004 World Poker Champion Greg Raymer stood waiting for a talk radio interview. “Focus on the Family considers poker immoral,” Raymer said, gesturing towards the Focus on the Family booth down an aisle. “They have no right to tell me what to do.” Raymer is at CPAC representing the Poker Players Alliance..."

Conservatives have bigger fish to fry and besides, in the end, He will make the final judgment on who has and who has not adhered to His word.

Looks as though their sexual proclivities trump their conservatism, to say the least. Thanks for posting that.

No, I haven’t researched the three men. I just posted “their “conservative agenda”.

You want the homosexual agenda to change the conservative platform?

No....but I am also against obnoxious incivility and insipid rudeness.

Which this guy assuredly was.

Hell...the FIRST thing he did was CONDEMN his host.

I don’t think you understand what I’m talking about. Same-sex “marriage” is a means of using the power of the state to force people to violate their religious beliefs, by requiring them to treat people who are not married as if they are. There is no opportunity here to vote “present.”

I agree with you on that, but I think the answer is to stop forcing people to do anything different based on marriage status. What I want to do or not do based on someone's marriage status should be my business and mine alone.

By promoting “gay”ness and any part of the homosexual agenda, they are not friends of conservatives, and neither is Lisa who doesn’t see this.

Do the GOProud people want open homosexuals in the military? Same sex marriage? if so, they aren’t conservative.

Would you like to tell me if there was anything in those profiles that particularly irked you?

Well I certainly would never pretend to speak for Onyx, but when I read that:

"Christopher R. Barron is the Chairman of the Board of GOProud. Chris is also the President of CapSouth Consulting, LLC, a full service political consulting firm.",

that makes me nervous as Hell.

I consider the homosexual agenda’s purpose which is to destroy traditional aka “real” values a lot worse than someone raising their voice.

That you do not speaks volumes about your values.

No, I haven’t researched the three men.

And you probably haven't watched the video that started the thread either.

Reminds me of one of Lazamataz's great signature lines:

"Proudly posting without reading the thread since 1999!"

Being a lawyer irked me a lot more than his being a homosexual. :o)

Thank you! So they are homosexual agenda pushers after all, surprise, surprise.

JR - onyx posted GOProud’s “conservative” agenda for all the world to see. Homosexuals in the miltary and same sex marriage. And patrolling the globe to punish other countries who are “mean to gays”.

And “Holding the line” on gov spending isn’t exactly conervative. How about slashing it to the bone?

So is upholding traditional aka “real” moral values. Even more important than someone not raising his voice.

“Homosexuals in the miltary and same sex marriage. And patrolling the globe to punish other countries who are “mean to gays”.”

These are the flagship issues for them, which is why they should not have been at a conservative conference. Of course CPAC is a Romney love fest and is in fact not conservative at all. Advertising themselves as conservative is fraud.

“Civility is one seriously good value.”

He was blunt but not uncivil. And the boos were rude. THEY were the uncivil ones.

Didn’t Burke say that the only thing necessary of the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing? This guy had the guts to speak out against this and you condemn him.

Actually, laws do tell you what you cannot do, and they should be enforced.

And was he not rude?!

Now those two may have a history that might explain his atrocious behavior, but on the strength of that performance, I couldn't care less what else he has to say.

If he thinks he has forwarded his cause, he is sorely mistaken.
