Pirates Seize Ship Carrying 2,300 Hyundai's

A ship carrying 2,300 Hyundai's and Kia's was captured by Somali pirates about 600 miles off the coast of Somalia late Friday, The Car Connection reports.
Not to make light of something as serious as a pirate attack, but Hyundai's own public relations man Dan Bedore's tweeted that: "Even Pirates seem to be switching to Hyundai."

If my 92 Lumina would have qualified for Cash4Clunkers, I was ready to buy a new Hyundai.....still may.

Me as well...
Just seeing those cheap little cookie cutter cars all lined up on that ship is funny for some reason.
Even funnier that someone would steal them.

I think it would be funny if the pirates docked the ship and just let people get in and drive cars away. How long would it take before all the cars were wrecked pieces of junk? I’d say 3 weeks.

You’d think they’d at least be consistent in their ignorance.

GM and Chrysler have immediately dispatched ships full of their products to the area in yet another effort to reduce unsold inventory.

Hyundai was
not "bought by Toyota."
It is the world's 4th largest automaker, and is outdoing Toyota when it comes to offering exciting cars for a reasonable price.
In 2006, they beat Toyota in the J.D. Power & Associates quality ranking.

Yes, it is, but I’m not sure what that has to do with it.
Kia got into financial problems, and Hyundai bought them.
