Brennan: Deal 'on the table' for terror suspect

The U.S. Government is offering the suspect charged with attempting to bomb an aircraft on Christmas Day, Omar Abdulmutallab, some kind of incentives to share what he knows about Al Qaeda, White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan said Sunday.

Asked why Abdulmutallab should cooperate given his right, as criminal defendant, to remain silent, Brennan replied: "He doesn't have to but he knows there are certain things that are on the table... if he wants to engage with us in a productive manner, there are ways he can do that."

Asked if Abdulmutallab's willingness to talk changed once he had an attorney, Brennan declined to answer. "I'm not going to address what he did before or after he talked with a lawyer," the adviser said.

This is great news!

Keep it up Obama! You're driving that stake deeper and deeper into your own heart!

I have a feeling that BO is gonna wish he hadn’t made such a big deal about how the US “tortures” in the months to come. These terrorists are not going to reveal anything and it will be on his shoulders alone.

Counterterrorism in Obama's Washington by Daniel Pipes

Implementation of the inept policies outlined by Brennan spells danger for Americans, American interests, and American allies. The bitter consequences of these mistakes soon enough will become apparent.

1. Convict him. 2. Anoint his body liberally with lard (from pigs). 3. Execute him. They executed McVeigh didn’t they? 4. Bury him in a grave sealed with several yards of concrete. Publicize number 2.

Let the Imams and their followers know we condemned one of their would be martyrs to hell.

First of all he should not be in the hands of the civilian police. He is a terrorist combatant and should be in the hands of the military where the President should make the decision quickly that he would be tried by a military court and given the same sentence as those who were caught during the FDR rule.

He goes on TV and says Cheney put him up to it, and they let him cop a plea to starting a campfire without a permit.

These folks seem to be motivated by the prospects of endless sex in the afterlife. Perhaps a troupe of patriotic prostitutes would give these guys a reason to continue living and spill their guts. It would also give Obama an excuse to nationalize the world’s oldest profession.

Maybe Obama will just let Holder dismiss the case ala the New Black Panthers voter intimidation case.

That'll teach those terrorists a lesson!

I was watching Fox when he said it. Then I started spewing expletives, and had to leave the room. Also, he referenced Bush more than the present admin. Oh, let’s keep blaming Bush.
Do they have any other Mantra in this WH?

My sense was that a plea deal of some sort could be worked out. I chose to ignore it (for now) or pretend I was reading too much into it.

I am having trouble wrapping my brain around so many things this past week. I don’t know how much more my brain can try to process.

They don’t need to make a deal with him to get information. Treat him like Bush/Cheney treated the Shoe Bomber, Richard Reid. Waterboard him till he gives us everything he knows, then try him before a Military Commission and place him before a firing squad. Thats the way Real American Men treat Terrorists.

Naive doesn’t begin to describe this administration. They’re going to have to come up with a whole slew of new adjectives before this one goes away.

In China, a plea deal includes letting the condemned live 3 extra months from tomorrow.

Wish we had that.
