WASHINGTON -- Demure Delaware was the first state to ratify the Constitution, but since then has not made many waves. It might, however, be part of a political wave a year from now, thanks to a direct descendent of Benjamin Franklin.

Didn’t he vote for cap-and-tax? If so, he’s a RINO and we DON’T need another one of them!
Somehow...the prospect of a nine-term career Congresscritter making the jump form the South side of the National Capitol to the North Side...could only “be making a wave” in the mind of a George Will...
Ain’t that the gods’ truth!
I thought we decided to ignore anything written by the faux-conservative George Will. I gave him up long ago. Once a hopeful member of the conservative community. Now a lost cause, bought and paid for by ABC News.
Throw them all out of and start over.
Place them ALL in prison where they belong, starting with that marxist a-hole in the White House.
Throw out all of the career politicians. Once they stay in DC too long, they are corrupted and useless.
I'm all for term limits, but simply having been there is NOT a disqualification. I'd much rather have Strom Thurmond than a young Lindsey Grahamesty.
If the best you can do is Mike Castle, Mark Kirk and other “moderate” republicans..
Well let’s just say they don’t represent the face of the new anti-government tea party movement..
>> The great man’s great-great-great-great-great grandson, Mike Castle, 70, a nine-term Delaware congressman, will be next year’s Republican nominee for the Senate seat Joe Biden held for 36 years. <<
Hurry up and write the history now, before reality happens! Castle is clearly the “favorite,” but he is not unopposed. A wave could be turning on RINOs (see Specter, Crist, Christie and Scuzzifloppo.)
>> ODonnell wins men by 10 points but loses women by 27. She gets 71% Republican support, while Biden picks up 83% of Democrats. But ODonnell also has nearly a two-to-one edge among unaffiliateds. <<
O’Donnell is losing in the general election match-ups because the her name recognition is very low. A huge portion of voters trust the devil they know over anyone they do not know.
If they’re for cap and trade, we don’t need them. You say his Dem opponent is for cap and trade, so what’s the difference? The difference is that a GOP’er who supports cap and trade gives cover to “moderate” democrats and gives the bill “bi-partisanship the Media wants.
I totally sympathize with you, but think about this. When push comes to shove the GOP leadership can pressure moderate republicans to stay in line and vote against the Dem agenda. The GOP has no such influence over moderate Dems.
Castle is a RINO through and through. He’s been supported by taxpayers his whole adult life.
Old Ben would disown him, if he were alive today.
IIRC, Ron Brownstein came up with 61 seats that rats hold, but whose district voted for Bush in 2004 or McCain in 2008. I hope Cook's correct.
We’ll get no better out of Illinois either, but an R after their name means we could get all the plum committee assignments, real power and the ability to turn back the clock.
Of course, purists would rather go down with the ship than sail to victory. Victory and a return to the Republic!
