“Byrd apparently stood up too fast this morning in his home and fell down,”

Tripped over his sheet.

OMG!!I am laughing so hard..Thanks!

That said why the heck don’t these old farts retire..I am all for the elderly working they are the most intelligent people around, but when it gets to the point of Byrd spending more time in bed at home than in Washington then it is time he is gone...Do they take this man to Washington to vote and then take him home in Air Force One ever day..

Not a cool comment, kabar.

This is a more common problem than you might think. When you sit up from bed, the blood rushes away from your brain (gravity doing its thing). In people with less than clear arteries, it sometimes takes a little time for the blood to recycle back to the brain. If you try to stand too fast, the lack of blood in the brain causes dizziness and down you go.

My dad had a similar problem the last 10 years or so of his life. It's old age, nothing more. He just had to remember to sit on the edge of the bed for a few seconds in the morning before standing.

Happens quite frequently here in JAX. many times, the fire truck is on station and ready to roll while the EMT’s are enroute from their last call. The other reason is in the event the emergency vehicle is involved in a traffic accident, the other can continue the response.

"Tripped over his sheet."

Seriously guys tone it down a bit.

Yeah he is a dimocrat and yeah he has a shady past but at least the guy believes in the rules of the Senate AND the Constitution. If he was in full health right now he would be berating the Democrats for even considering the Nuclear Option for other than it was conceived!

Prayers to him and his family...
