STEVENSVILLE - Parading with Bitterroot Valley Republican groups in her Hummer, Cathy Kulonis said she was exercising her First Amendment rights Saturday when she hoisted a sign reading “No Mo Bro” during Creamery Picnic festivities here.
In response to angry requests to remove the sign, and contentions that it carried unsavory racial overtones regarding President Barack Obama, Kulonis held her ground, referring to those who complained as “red-faced maniacs” and “liberal extremists.”
When the parade committee chairman requested that she remove her sign, she once again stood fast and refused to put it away. “I was just smiling and greeting everybody, when all of a sudden on my left I heard those people screaming, ‘You're a racist, take your sign down,' and I thought, ‘I'm not a racist,' ” Kulonis said.
“Then a man came up and he said he was with the parade. I told him only two people fussed. ... I didn't even know who he was, he didn't identify himself. ... I let him know that I know my constitutional rights.”
Kulonis, who moved to Montana from California, a state she called “the land of fruits and nuts,” said any racial interpretation of “No Mo Bro” was off base.
“Bro” referred to “brother” in the Christian sense, as in a fellow member of the church, Kulonis said, and was not a reference to “brother,” as in slang for a black man.
Saying the phrase was simply “Okie talk” for “we've had enough,” Kulonis called the attack on her free speech a typical tactic of liberals.
“This issue is not about racism,” Kulonis wrote in an e-mail to the Ravalli Republic. “It is not even about me. It is about control. A useless effort by the left to silence me.”

First off, "Skin in the game" really turned my stomach the first time I heard him say that...
And then when I saw one of his post election, continual campaign speeches when he said, "let's give it up for..." (Forgot which Mayor he was thanking), it really made me sick. To hear the supposed (and hopefully short-lived) leader of the greatest empire int he world use the term "Let's give it up..." was just was too much for me. Frickin' street thug!

I kind of old, so it’s hard to keep up with the latest Racist Slang from the President’s “Bros” when I’m worrying about some ACORN worker deciding if I can get my next round of Chemo to treat my Leukemia.

OH give me a break, don’t you remember “don’t taze me bro”? That got turned into “don’t tax me bro” for tea parties...but I get that’s racist too?
If there is one good thing to come out of Obama’s presidency it will be the end of the race card and seeing racists behind every single tree.

I definitely can say Amen to this last statement. Here in Hawaii, I hear both Bra, and Bro, so Danae’s experience in local slang is probably limited...or giving him the benefit of the doubt, he was just “shooting from the lip”.
