India, US planned to attack China through Nepal: Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Maoist chief Prachanda has made a sensational charge that India and the US had planned to launch anti-China campaign, even a possible attack on the Communist giant, using Nepalese territory.

"I had to quit the post of Prime Minister as my party was opposed to allow our territory to be used against China," Prachanda was quoted as saying by the Rajdhani daily.

"The US-India plan had to face challenge from our party and that triggered the conspiracy against my government," Prachanda, who quit following a rift with his coalition partners over the controversial decision to sack the army chief, said at a training programme of the Maoists here.

Prachanda had earlier blamed India for toppling his eight-month old government in May this year. The Maoist chief said he was quoting a senior Indian professor while making these statements but did not name the Indian scholar.

He alleged that reactionary and conspiratorial elements have been deceiving the Nepalese people by acting as agents of the foreign powers.

"But we will never bow down before any power for the establishment of peace and writing the constitution," he said.

Conspiracy is being hatched to sabotage against the writing of the constitution, he pointed out.

Prachanda's allegations came ahead of a month long protest programme by his party starting tomorrow with the aimed at maintaining "civilian supremacy" and forming a government of national consensus under Maoists' leadership.

The truth of course is that the Nepali maoists are in league with Red China and planned to let the Chi-coms attack India through Nepal.

Always blame it on the man. I can’t wait til we really establish that there are space aliens amongst us. Then the US will be able to blame everything blamed on us, on them!

It’s true!! We were going to hide an army on top of Everest and then storm down the mountain into China. We canceled at the last minute because there weren’t enough winter coats to go around.

Oh Yeah...We want to start a suicidal war with China...This guy must be a bigger ass than Biden to tell such a rediculous lie, and think even the most paranoid Chinese nutcase would believe it.

Oh yeah! The US tacticians know that the smart way to attack China would be overland in the most mountainous terrain in the world. Did they plan to use an aircraft carrier as a battering ram too? What nerds!

I don’t get it. Why would anyone believe that President Obama would attack his very good friends and chief financiers in China?!

As usual, the truth is the opposite of what this clown says.

China has been making belligerent noises and moves regarding Indian territory that borders Nepal.

....The Chinese are reported to be demanding that at least the Tawang Tract of Arunachal Pradesh, if not the whole of it, should be transferred to China. They are apparently adamant that there will be no border settlement without the transfer of at least Tawang to China.

2. Their claims to Tawang are based on the fact that the monastery at Tawang, according to them, has had historic relations with the monastery at Lhasa and that one of the previous Dalai Lamas was born in Tawang. India’s position has been that any border settlement should not involve the transfer of populated areas. Tawang is a populated town. Its residents are Indian citizens. The Chinese had originally agreed to the principle that there should be no transfer of populated areas, but now they are reportedly insisting that this principle cannot apply to Tawang.

3. The atmosphere over the border issue has become somewhat tense recently following media reports that the Government of India had sanctioned the raising of two more Mountain Divisions for deployment in Arunachal Pradesh and that some planes of the Indian Air Foce had been deployed for the defence of Arunachal Pradesh. The Government of India has also embarked on a crash programme for the development of the road infrastructure in the Arunachal Pradesh area.

4. All these measures, which are of a purely defensive nature, were decided upon by the Government of India in reaction to the development of the road infrastructure in Tibet, the construction of the railway line to Lhasa and reports that >>>>>>China plans to extend this railway line from Lhasa to the Indian border and to connect its road network in Tibet with the Nepalese road network. <<<<<<<<<

5. Till four years ago, the Government of India had given low priority to the development of road and other military-related infrastructure in Arunachal Pradesh in order to avoid bilateral tensions on this issue when the border talks were going on. But reports that China was strengthening its military-related infrastructure in Tibet led to a decision to take defensive measures in the Arunachal Pradesh area.

6. An increase in the number of Chinese troop intrusions into the Indian territory in this area also contributed to this decision.

Wrong -- we were going to hide a naval command up there

I cannot think of a stupider idea than attacking China through Nepal. Makes no military sense of any kind.
