I thought the same thing, but it *could* be (as others pointed out to me) that his family just released the info to their local paper. Kind of like when someone tells their hometown paper that they just had a baby (even if that baby was born in another state). it could read like, “Mr and Mrs John Smith of Small Town USA gave birth to a boy on 14 Dec 1980”

If you read the article, it is not about faking it. The point is that the announcement in the paper may have come from the COLB issued by the Department of Health Vital Statistics System. Thus, it is not proof of birth in Hawaii. Comprende?

No, but she (or more likely the Grandmother -1000% more responsible) might have wanted him to be considered at least SOME kind of US Citizen.

BTW there is NOTHING they could have done, short of lying about the paternity to make Zero a natural-born citizen since the father (Barack Obama Sr.) was not a US Citizen himself and therefore could not bequeath that status to his son. In fact, what the father passed down to the son is BRITISH colonial status, thus forever making the son ineligible to the Prersidency regardless of where he might have been born.

His father was not a United States citizen. His mother had been outside the country too long to qualify her son to be a citizen automatically.

Hawaii issued birth certificates to children born outside the country when entering the country with an American parent at the time. When the certificate was issued the newspapers would have made the announcement - regardless if he was actually born in the US.

Point being if he was not actually physically born in Hawaii he would not be “natural born” under his parental circumstances as required by the US constitution. So far no evidence has been provided to document that he was actually physically born in Hawaii. That is Fact.

One of the real legal questions is whether he lost his “natural born citizen” designation with foreign citizenship...thus having multiple allegiances.

He also probably played the system to get foreign aid for school...that is why he is trying so hard to keep it all quiet.

Eventually this will all come out and most likely they broke laws while covering this up and that is where we will nail them.

Another interesting issue.

This newspaper information was made public months after the people who lived at the address given for Obama’s birth announcement died. The Obama’s never owned the house at the address given. The people that lived at that address did so from before Obama was born until they died. None of the neighbors ever recall a black kid living there. The actual people that lived their can't be asked. They are dead (no I'm not suggesting they were killed). But it is a convenient address.

How does one explain that?

Could have been the grandmother who sent the "announcement" to the newspaper.

Newspapers at the time probably published "news" of births as a service for proud parents and grandparents, NQA.

Perhaps the grandmother thought that by getting this in the newspaper, she could "create a record" for an otherwise, out-of-a-hospital, out-of-the-country, or out-of-wedlock birth. The thought that her grandchild might someday be president, did not cross her mind.

His mother wanted her son to be an American citizen whether he was one or not. Getting a Certificate of Live Birth, even back then, could be considered “proof” that her son was a citizen, no matter where he was born. It fools people in 2009. It would have fooled people in 1961....

Not saying these were faked in 61...The mother just happen to be out the country visiting the father family in 61 when she gives birth, she goes back to Hawaii and recorded the birth again normal and no big deal...normally...

But years later when Obama starts playing with the idea of running for President, this technical question of “Natural Born” status President of the United States must first pop up for him... and so being the lawyer he starts playing this game of not quite telling the whole truth "parsing words"... and has dug himself a hole he can not get out of... he just keeps giving oblique evidence that do not answer a simple straight question... where were you born....

He's yet to proved the the simplest thing to provide (see picture below)... if he was born in Hawaii he got one on file sitting in a stated recodes vault..and he can get a photo copy for a few bucks an a stamp

Illogical. She didn’t have to be thinking of him becoming president. Think of two or more other reasons why she would want him to be a US citizen.

Simple answer- it’s possible that the Obama’s were having marital problems and living in Kenya. She gives birth to Barack then returns to Hawaii. Her parents see this and fear she’ll be raising Barack alone. So to strengthen Mrs. Obama’s chances of receiving welfare, they send the newspaper the COLB announcing Barack’s birth (or someone such as a case worker did it).

When Barack’s mother dropped out of the University of Hawaii in the fall of 1960 due to pregnancy, can you provide witnesses or evidence who saw her in the U.S. from then until the fall of 1961 when she enrolled at the University of Washington?

Gotta wonder if he didn't somehow get the identity of a child born then who died shortly after birth and was promptly forgotten by the world. In a tin hat moment I can see the people who are pulling his strings found him an identity that would be hard to disprove, especially if the MSM were on his side.

I keep hearing the term “Manchurian Candidate” applied to him. I have not see the movie but understand the plot and the concept. It's not tin foil hat stuff to look at all the facts we DO know and then look for scenarios that account for the majority of them. That's the kind of thing good novels and good detective work are made of.

If you look at what we do know for facts, and there are lots of them, the least likely scenario for connecting the dots is the very one Obama would have us believe. Go figure!

If he was born outside the US, he was not a citizen. Under the law that existed at the time, his mother, his US Citizen parent, would have needed to have lived in the US for a total of 10 years, 5 of which needed to be after her 14th birthday. (It's now 5 years and 2 years respectively). His mother was not yet 19 when he was born, so she failed the second half of the test.

In those days many thought that being a US Citizen was worth something., even those who wanted the country to move far far to the left of where it then was.

It is interesting that some are certain that the family couldn’t have put in a birth announcement. Well, right now, you can log in and place an ad for your own child’s birth announcement in the Chicago Tribune classified section. So maybe in Hawaii the Dept. of health provides some data, but other papers let parents pay for an announcement ad—it is in the classifieds. Perhaps Obama’s parents actually put in ad—it in no way says where he was born.

Seems to me that the birth ad being printed in paper is similar to marriage announcement. It is just announcing that the Obamas on such & such street, had a baby. The birth date is included as well. Ad/announcement doesn’t
say anything about where baby was born. Theoretically, nowadays, a parent adopting a foreign baby from Poland our Peru could go pick up their baby and return to Chicago place a birth announcement in Chicago Trib. Many parents would want to do that to let the world know they have a baby. They were not faking it—just announcing it; besides, when you publish birth announcement in papers used to get freebies from merchants, etc. So just made sense to do it
