MIRA LOMA - A 24-year-old Costa Mesa man was shot to death when he tried to break into a home Sunday, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.

The man has not been publicly identified, pending notification of next of kin.

A woman suspected of helping the man break into a home in the 3100 block of Chardoney Way in Mira Loma Sunday morning was arrested last night.

The man and woman had attempted a home invasion robbery at the house, and during a struggle with one of the residents, the man dropped his gun, authorities said.

A resident picked up the gun and shot the robber to death, authorities said.

Could be cute but looks deeply troubled. Could be because her boyfriend just died and she’s going to jail. Big Bertha will really like her.

What about firing a weapon that wasn’t registered to the shooter?

That’s a big deal here in California...

(I’m being facetious, but who knows...)

The homeowner may be in some sh%8. He may find out that it would have been better for him to have been robbed than go through the crap the ACLU and the courts might take him through. Could clearly depend on the race of the robber. We know the cops caught a blondie who was with the perp.

Okay, so I’m jumping the gun, but it is California. I raise a toast to the homeowner for taking care of the business.

Lets hope the Police and the DA pats him on the back and lets him get back to a normal life.

To carry your thought a bit further, the homeowner might be in some hot water. If the perp dropped his gun and the homeowner picked it up and had control of the firearm, where is the rationale for deadly force? The perp is now unarmed and might not be a threat anymore.

I don’t like it either, but that may be how the DA’s look at this.
