Thanks. My prayers and thoughts are with all Iranians standing up.
May the entire regime eventually fall, starting with nutjob and Khamenei.
I rec’d the info below from a PUBBY cyberfriend about Iran’s opposition leader. Any ideas?
Who is Mir-Hossein Mousavi Khameneh, the so called moderate that may or may not have defeated Mahmoud Ahmadinejad earlier this week?
According to the NYT, he was part of the leadership in 1987 that tried to blackmail the US with a money/arms for hostages deal. http://www.nytimes.com/1987/01/04/weekinreview/the-world-iran-and-us-fail-to-settle-account.html
In 1988 Iranian Prime Minister Mir-Hossein Mousavi yesterday called Israel a “cancerous tumour” and said the Palestinian move to accept UN Resolution 242 would anger Muslim revolutionaries.
In 1989, Mousavi called for Salman Rushdie to be killed. The Times (London) reported that “Mr Mir-Hossein Mousavi, the Prime Minister, said the Ayatollah Khomeini’s order that Mr Rushdie should be killed ‘will undoubtedly be carried out and the person who has become a tool of Zionists against Islam and brazenly attacked it and the Prophet will be punished’, according to Tehran Radio.” And in that same year, the Washington Post described Mousavi as a “leading hardliner,” with links to regime attempts to assassinate political opponents in exile.

Articles on numerous sites have plenty of info stating he was one of the founders of the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

Iran is controlled by the unelectednsupreme leader khamenei who handpicks the council who handpicks the presidents. But this defiance in the face of no democracy is true bravey. Iranians do not have guns or weapons.
BTTT
Thanks for the video......FREEDOM!
We have to accept the fact that it takes time to read and perhaps learn other languages in order to understand the world around us. Not all of us have this possibility.
Both of you, knock off the personal attacks and insults.
I would like to issue you both an apology and a retraction of my comments on post #8. I do this for a number of reasons. First of all I was not aware, until I read your profile page that you were a Muslim and Iranian. That alone made my statements out of line as what I said was basically an attack and insult on you personally. I beg your forgiveness.
The main reason I want to apologize though it because of the video of the death of “Neda”. I have not actually watched the video. I have seen the still photo of a pretty young woman about to die and it breaks my heart. I don’t see an Iranian or a Muslim...I just see a young woman dying way too soon at the hands of a vicious government.
While I do not pretend that past grievances against Iran are not legitimate, nor will I ignore that nations intentions toward Israel I do not believe now is the time to focus on those. Rather now is the time to stand with the people of Iran who are protesting and fighting for more freedom.
God bless you and the people of Iran who long to be free.
I deeply appreciate your response. It proves your dignity and honor. I, too, apologize if I said anything out of line.
We are together never apart.
If true, very interesting.
