OTTAWA — William Ayers, the Chicago-based education professor who was denied entry into Canada last January, has now been barred from coming to Ottawa to speak at a major academic conference.

Ayers, who was the co-founder of the radical Weather Underground in the 1960s, has since been recognized as a leading education professor. He was invited to speak at the Congress of the the Humanities and Social Sciences on Monday by the Canadian Society for the Study of Education.

Now surely you would think that Obama would help his mentor out with a call to the Canadian embassy, but then, Obama's first response to an embarrassment is to throw the cause thereof under the bus.

Gotta love it. “Education professor” says it all. Little academic rigor, little proof of ability to do anything, and a degree worth about as much as one in astrology.

Any truth to the rumor that Obama was an affirmative-action rider on the short bus?

Interesting—unless I missed something, the article doesn’t mention the Obama connection. But why else would this be news, if not for the Obama connection?

If you’ve ever wondered what’s wrong with the schools, just look at who teaches the teachers.

No kidding. Seems pretty redundant when you break it down:

"An educator educating educators about education."

Not to mention “It wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t the one who started it. I inherited the mess. I never listened. I wasn’t really there. I was only a child......” He is incapable of taking responsibility.

True but it isn't a major issue and is seldome checked out that closely. Also you can get clearance but it takes a while and will cost several hundred dollars.

I went to Canada several times without being asked but ended up getting cleared simply because I didn't want to be convicted of crossing unauthorized.

The thing is, 60’s radicals love the attention they get when they make the news for being a (murder-plotting) radical.

Too bad we couldn’t get the US to deny him re-entry and keep him in that little no man’s land between the two!

Ayn Rand was a prophetess wasn’t she?

LOL! “It isn’t my fault!”

Everyone in that book running for cover or looking for someone who will take the blame if things go badly.

She knew leftists inside and out.
