LONDON [MENL] -- Iran has been developing an air defense network that could defend against a U.S. attack, a report said.
A report by a leading defense researcher said Iran was assembling a Russian-origin air defense umbrella that could defeat attacks by the most modern Western aircraft.
The report, "Surviving the Modern Integrated Air defence System," said Iran has employed IADS technology that could cause huge losses in any U.S. air campaign.

Dem ragheds is geniuses!
The guys and gals at the Tactical Control Squadron there at Holloman will be happy to have “air to air” birds back.
Thanks for the update SZ.
Irans defense could not touch our Nuclear Balistic Missile systems. A weapon that we may be forced to revert to if Iran suceedes in putting up a credible defense against our conventional weapon systems.
Now that Iran is a Nuclear power they get to bleed like the big boys, no more fighting with our hands tied behind our backs.
Heck a salvo if 200 Tomahawk cruise missiles and its Game, Set & Match!!
Game Over Iran!!
I was about to say more but I wont bother since its pretty obvious L-) :-)
WTF?? Obama's wrecking team really didnt waste any time I see!!
What are they gonna do next? Scrap 10 of our 12 Aircraft Carriers to appease his Muslim & Commie handlers???
We'd have to ask the Australians nicely if we could borrow theirs. Oz is the only country that operates the F-111 now. Which is probably a mistake on our part, given their performance in the Gulf War. Even against these "modern" Russian arrangements (oh -- by the way, Barack -- how's that Russian promise to help keep the Iranians from building the Bomb coming.....?), the F-111 ought to be able to make some significant contribution. Especially if, as our friend notes, the Russian system is suitably degraded first.
Yeah, the idea of a crate that looks like that ..... and then is designed to ride its own shock-wave to the other side of the world ..... just kind of sucks the air out of my chest, the stuff our guys used to do. Just ... amazing.
Now we know the kind of damage Jimmuh did, breaking up those great teams and dispersing all that engineering talent. Those guys would have us in orbit around Neptune by now if he and Tricky Dick had left them the hell alone and let them work.
Hell, we'd probably have a star drive by now. We'd be like Cartman, "Screw you guys, we're going to Alpha Centauri!"
I look at the leaps that the B-70 made and the SR-71, and our space program, all in the same time frame. Then all of a sudden NADA. Granted a bird like the F-22 is awesome, but I don’t see it as the giant leap like the previous planes. Maybe I should, I’m not an aero-engineer, and nobody else has developed a plane quite like the F-22, or the B-70, or the SR-71.
He'd just sit it out in Hawaii.
