leveraging his sole authority to appoint a United States Senator; threatening to withhold substantial state assistance to the Tribune Company in connection with the sale of Wrigley Field to induce the firing of Chicago Tribune editorial board members sharply critical of Blagojevich; and to obtain campaign contributions in exchange for official actions . . .

Isn't this all part of the culture of Cook County and Illinois? Do they think they can put together a jury to convict him? Are they going to seek a change of venue downstate to some podunk town like Carthage or Macoomb to better their chances?

He announced it, but was he the one running the investigation? Is the FBI under his jurisdiction?

No offense taken, none at all. For me: Not knowing (or wishing to store) the affiliation of every pol in every office in every state, though; Do you think that in an article of 3456 words; where “sort of obvious” things like
“innocent until proven guilty” and “suggested contributing to Friends of Blagojevich” and etc; and etc; they could throw in that one descriptive adjective....”democrat”?

This guy has to be a real brainbox for discussing this stuff over the phone when he knows he’s suspect. I wonder what Obama paid for his Senate seat?

How much did Chairman Baraq pay for HIS senate seat?

You'd have to ask Uncle George Soros who bought it for him.

Cabinet post or ambassadorship? All contacts between Blagojevich and the Obama campaign/The Office of The President Elect need to be entered into evidence. Phone logs, emails, everything.

"How much did Chairman Baraq pay for HIS senate seat?"

He didn't, they opened up the sealed divorce trial info on his opponent and it took him right out.

No need for any cash transaction at all when you have judges that will do the favors for free.

The Democrats: a culture of corruption.

Interestingly, the word “Democrat” never appears in the article.

I wonder how much money changed hands under the table for Obama to get elected (unopposed) to the Illinois State Senate and to the US Senate?

Of course, the MSM will never want to investigate Obama, so we will never know.

If he wanted to set himself up for life financially he should have just named himself Senator. The gravy train would have run forever.

There’s been talk of Blago’s impending indictment for nearly 2 years, but this is incredible. He was so blatantly out in the open trying to sell the Senate seat that it’s truly hard to believe anyone is that stupid.

Obama stayed far away from him during the campaign. Now you know why
