RUSSIAN ANALYST PREDICTS DECLINE AND BREAKUP OF USA
The Drudge Report ^ | 11-25-2008 | Matt Drudge

A leading Russian political analyst has said the economic turmoil in the United States has confirmed his long-held view that the country is heading for collapse, and will divide into separate parts.

Professor Igor Panarin said in an interview with the respected daily IZVESTIA published on Monday: "The dollar is not secured by anything. The country's foreign debt has grown like an avalanche, even though in the early 1980s there was no debt. By 1998, when I first made my prediction, it had exceeded $2 trillion. Now it is more than 11 trillion. This is a pyramid that can only collapse."

He predicted that the U.S. will break up into six parts - the Pacific coast, with its growing Chinese population; the South, with its Hispanics; Texas, where independence movements are on the rise; the Atlantic coast, with its distinct and separate mentality; five of the poorer central states with their large Native American populations; and the northern states, where the influence from Canada is strong.

He even suggested that "we could claim Alaska - it was only granted on lease, after all." Panarin, 60, is a professor at the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and has authored several books on information warfare.

I'm sure Governor Palin will have something to say about that!

We’ll be tested by the fire, Professor, but in the end we’ll still be the UNITED States of America. You are, however, welcome to your delusions.

He is 100% correct. I know that people on this board think that the USA is some magical place than has a god given right to be the most powerful country in the world, but it doens’t. America is powerful because in the past we have made the right choices. In the past 40 years we have made so many poor choices with regard to too much spending and little savings that I don't think we can recover.

It will happen someday but in terms of his predictions he reveals a certain lack of knowledge. For example his belief that the central states will become separate because of the “large native American population”.

He’s right about our financial system. Also, when there is no respect for the Constitutional system breakup of the country is possible. Immigration is an obvious threat.

All this could be brought under control if we had some leadership.

As Novak just said, he learned that “politicians, as a class, are up to no good.”
