Especially when you consider that Illinoisistan is one of only two states in the entire union that absolutely and categorically forbids CCW for it's law abiding citizens.
All of the states laws serve only to empower the lawbreakers and endanger the noncriminals.
What a sad state of affairs.

Actually, one of the arguments made for the Police Special, was the limited penetrating power of the 0.38, the idea being that it limits dangers to bystanders. (Shotguns have the same virtue.)
I went to high school with the NYPD Police commissioner's daughter, so I took note of and remember his public pronouncements, including one,(circa 1970) in favor of the 0.38.
One big advantage of shotguns and semiautomatic rifles is intimidation. These kids understand this perfectly well.
Speaking of intimidation, my cousin retired after 20 years on the NYPD and never drew his weapon once. He's far from physically intimidating at 5’ 9” , 165#, he just knew how to deal with people. He ended his career as a lieutenant detective on the Manhattan District Attorney's homicide squad, so he was far from being a desk jockey.

Dont ever leave your bullets and your SUV together with out supervision, you never know what mischief they may cook up.
OMG!! I'm in deep, smelly brown stuff. My loaded .357 lives in my Navigator's glove compartment. I also have a dog who's half American Bull Dog. Take me to Rededucation NOW!!

What was required in such an environment was a pistol or revolver firing aimed single shots with soft point ammo (again I stress Im no expert) to take out the bad guy(s) but the cops preferred the macho look of the H&Ks. I would think the level of over-penetration risk would be as much a function of the ammunition as the style of weapon. Higher velocity does not always translate to increased penetration. Further, I would think accuracy would be key to minimizing danger to bystanders. If guards can shoot a rifle or carbine more accurately than a pistol, I would think that would be a good thing.
Of course, I have no idea whether ammunition was chosen wisely.

If you think people get upset when a cop makes a good shoot on a bad guy, wait until a child gets killed by a police ricochet or over-penetration by an assault rifle. For some people, having a bad guy get shot is far worse than having an innocent get killed.

It will be OK as long as they have adequate chicken wing and backwards magazine insertion training...

Exactly correct.
If “they” have a need for them, then so do I.

The manufacturers should put them on the bottom of the list.
I want to thank these kids for taking the lib talking points and using it against king daley and his thugs.
His thugs will probably “lose” a couple of crates anyway to the gangs.
