Will John McCain be the Republican in Barack Obama's cabinet?
The Telegraph, London, UK ^ | 2008-11-12 | Toby Harnden

Posted on 11/12/2008 2:31:08 PM PST by rabscuttle385

It's standard fare for a president to make a bipartisan gesture by including one member of the opposing party in his cabinet - just as it's always the case (lest we forget) that every president-elect vows to change the tone in Washington and reach out magnanimously to his vanquished opponents.

But John Podesta, the former Bill Clinton former chief of staff who's spearheading the transition for the 44th president, said today that there would be independents and Republicans in Barack Obama's cabinet and "not just at a token level".

Will John McCain be the Republican in Jimmah Carter's cabinet?

Probably, and that's why he lost.

Lady...I've read every one of your posts from the short time you've been here at FreeRepublic, and I'm still trying to figure out what sort of strange demon prompted you to jump out of nowhere over my first posting in this thread. When I still had the inclination to be polite to you with a rebuttal, you blew me off. Disrespect here will get you nowhere fast.

In any case, your posting history is short but informative. I think anybody that goes through it will conclude that you're a closet leftist, a Hillary supporter, and maybe a few other things that we find unsavory here. You might not realize this, but I think that living in the Chicago area (as you claim you do) has poisoned your brain somehow.

What was your objective in starting this? Did you have one? At this point an appology will still do the trick. But after reading your posts, I'm not counting on one because I doubt your overinflated ego is going to allow it.

Choose your words carefully.

But of course! We all expect it! I would like to turn back time and see John choose a different VP....anybody BUT Gov. Sarah Palin just so he could have gotten his ass stomped miserably and humiliatingly into the ground. She's the only reason he got as many votes as he did! I hope she knows this. :-)

Living in Chicago is why I know the difference between Obama and McCain. People that think Obama is scary outside Chicago don’t know half the story. I’m not a big McCain fan but he clearly was the better choice.

you are so full of hate I feel sorry for you.

I have no problem with people who voted for Obama because they thought he’d be a good President. I disagree but that’s one thing. They don’t hate our troops.

When people vote for Obama or de facto vote for him by voting a third party as a protest vote or just teach McCain a lesson that is where spitting on our troops comes in.

If you hadn’t spewed the hate towards me in your responses I’d apologize but sorry no way do you deserve one.

Anyone that stayed home or voted for Obama or voted third party just to teach the RNC a lesson is no conservative.

Being a conservative to me is putting the USA first. Because I live in Illinois I see how truly dangerous Obama is and have seen it for years,

Aren’t the whiners doing the same thing conservatives accused the dems who voted out Lieberman in the primaries of doing?

While I think the are wrong and not very bright people who voted for Obama because they liked his ideas are one thing. They don’t hate our troops for the most part.

What is it like to be so completely consumed by hate? It must be so awful.

you are so full of hate I feel sorry for you.

Your overuse of the word "hate" betrays your true, non-conservative identity.

I live in Illinois and see what Obama’s close ally Blagojevich has done here and that’s what Obama will do to the whole country.

By not voting for McCain you in fact de facto supported Obama.

This whole silly idea that this will teach the RNC a lesson and we can get power back in 2-4 years.

That sounds like what the dems said in 1994. It took them 12 years.

I’ve actually heard McCain and Obama get along well even though they disagree on issues.

They do? Oh yeah, the percentage of earmarks that should be regulated by the SEC in election years within 30 days of...Yeah, huge divide there.

If you don’t see the difference between Hillary and Obama you’re crazy. There’s not much of one but if given a choice she would have been a better President than Obama.

She and McCain are the ones who are close together. I can see people not seeing a difference between her and McCain but between Obama and McCain it’s not even close.

Obama is actually a decent person. Terrible president but decent person. I think Jimmy Carter is a good person too. Terrible president.

Hate is calling people a turd which hired hand called me.

He is full of hate of McCain, hate of me and maybe doesn’t hate the US but he puts being a conservative ahead of his love of country,

Why don't you have a seat, put your feet up, and pour yourself a big, tall glass of STFU.

Oh telling people you disagree with to STFU isn’t that what conservatives always accuse liberals of doing?

Don't you know...it's not polite to talk about someone behind his back?

Next time, ping your attack target so he can defend himself.

Power is worthless if you have to sell your soul to get it.

No, conservatives accuse liberals of ignoring reality and making certifiably insane statements like "Carter was a good person" and "Obama is a good person". Did Hamas pay you to say that, or are you volunteering for the Palestinian Liberation phone bank? No wait, don't tell me, ACORN gave you a pack of smokes and a pre-paid Visa card to extoll the virtues of Obama, The Great Father and Dog Adopter.

Gawd, I hope you're a paid tool. The only other alternative is that you are constructed of 100% recyclable waste.
