While you may be correct about the economy hurting McCain, what is unforgivable to me is that McCain ALLOWED the Fannie Mae meltdown to be assigned to Republicans. He weakly spouted off a few names but never forcefully pushed it. He flinched on the bailout and looked confused. He maligned capitalism in a cynical wash of finger-pointing. It was disgusting. No principle. I don’t think Palin would have allowed that to happen.
Yes, no question there. Palin was a part of the problem. She had zero credibility with the majority of Americans. In order to win an election one has to resonate with more than the base! I’m being logical here, step back and truly analyze what happened. No blame on the media etc etc etc just logically look at the campaign and the choices they made without emotion and consider it.
I have seen you now in two posts this morning posting against Palin.....why?

She is the only reason that I bothered to vote GOP on Teusday.
I did it seven years ago for college. Eventually ended up even further south than where I initially planned to settle (and since that time VA and NC have become blue anyways to my great sadness; claimed by migrating yankees and god knows who else).
After this election I would not move to any state that voted blue.

Here’s the double-edged sword that Sarah faces. If Sarah had not been picked by McCain to be his running mate the whole world would be talking about something else right now and Sarah would probably never have been given the opportunity to occupy the White House. But given the opportunity, Sarah has created so much buzz everywhere, the MSM, the internet, right wing bloggers, right-wing grass-roots organizations etc. that she has been allowed to showcase her talent and charisma to the American people, especially the Republicans in a two-month tryout. So what is the verdict. Rasmussen says she has a 91% approval rating among Republicans as of now and would be selected by 64% of Republicans to be the Presidential standard-bearer for 2012 if they could vote right now. Romney and Huckabee were more than 50 points behind. I would say that was a pretty good debut on the national stage; to become the heart and soul and conscience of the Republican grass-roots in so short a time is nothing short of remarkable. To say that Sarah is a lock for the 2012 nomination, if she wants it, is totally speculative-we’re still a long way out from 2012. But I think I am on firm ground by saying that Sarah is definitely in the short list of candidates who will be considered among the front runners vying for the 2012 Presidential Republican nod.
You never change. You are all too happy to propagate that it was Mitt no matter the facts because you feel a Mormon is inappropriate in any place in the USA.
From what I have read, Mitt’s EMPLOYEES DID NOT JOIN THE MCCAIN CAMPAIGN. Why don’t you get proof before you try to tear down republicans with values.
Do you have any proof of this? I'm guessing you don't because there isn't any.

Whatever. At first like most I thought she was a good choice but under scrutiny she just doesn’t have any credibility. I understand the logic here with the choice of a woman but consider McCain didn’t exactly excite too many Republicans much less voters generally. Therefore people turned more to the vp pick and she came under a lot of examination and she just didn’t have the ‘credentials’ to stand up to scrutiny. Sorry but those are the facts.
I agree with you. I think that she needs a little time to gain footing on a the national front. She’s tough, no doubt about that. But I think that Jindal would be the one to bring the party back to it’s roots ( IF that can be accomplished.)

Possibly but she was WAY too negative. She came across as an extremist. People tire of the negativity after awhile a candidate has to have a message other than that the opponent sucks.
Having no credibility means that you have no or little support within your own ranks. Zipporah, Sarah is now supported by 91% of Republicans. Even if Rasmussen is off by 10 points, 80% support, after losing an election is still phenomenal. Numbers are numbers, facts are facts. Sarah has credibility with the people she needs to have crediblity with now. She has 4 years to gain more credibility with the American people as a whole. 4 years is a very long time in politics.
I like Jindal too. A lot of people poo poo Duncan Hunter but I think he is great.
I would love to see Tom McClintock gain some notoriety too
