Sarah appeals to Reagan Democrats in the Midwest.

“I’m basing it on my experience with people I speak with in the business world during the campaign etc.(no not extremist liberals, just mainstream Americans)”

I suspect that this was a case of “The Big Lie”, namely that if you tell something loud and long enough, people will start to believe it even if it really is a bunch of nonsense. I suspect that those mainstream Americans you mentioned basically just gullibly bought the Obamaistas and their willing collaborators in the DBM smears of Palin. Also, the Fox News report may be a bit questionable, IMO.

I suspect that you’re a Romney supporter who’s tired of the guy you support being beat up here by some of Palin’s supporters and am venting. I wish that everyone could, as they say in the movie Demolition Man, dump some hormones.

“My ultra-liberal Dem state house member is quoted in today’s paper as saying she will never trust Sarah again. She used to be a big supporter.”

Why won’t she “trust Sarah again”? Probably because Sarah accepted McCain’s nomination for VP. Or maybe she found out that Sarah is really conservative after all.

“They just bought the line fed by the McCain campaign.”

Again, it can be said that the McCain campaign may have really not used Sarah all that wisely.

Hey Ron I beg to differ with you, we do not have a lot of time, we need to start now to weed out the RINO’s, I mean pick them off in the primaries, and get a lot of new young republican faces to show that might be a successful Presidential Candidate. If we learned anything from this fiasco, it is that people like Sarah, are out there and they can and will give us a base to offer new ideas and faces. No more old worn out Senators.

Term limits for President are established by the Constitution. While Congress can propose an amendment, it must go to the States for ratification. Not going to happen.

Mitt-Shi%%, get off of Romney, he is just another empty suit, and sure as hell is no candidate for 2012, he is just another loser, and don't cloud the screen with him.

Maybe not overnight....but our “POTUS to be” believes the Constitution to be a flawed document....I don’t trust him anymore than I can pitch my house across the street...I can easily believe he will modify the Constitution by putting in Supremes that believe as he does....and, then, it is Katy bar the door!

I hear ya. I meant though that we have some time to see how things pan out and not rush into anything.

We really need to sit back, take in the lay of the land and then go forward. With any luck, we should see some rising stars in our party and have a good lot to choose from, and hopfully sooner rather than later.

Well, this is sort of true. Beth knew Sarah by working with her to raise taxes and spending--and to push though the $1200 give-away we got this year. And she helped Sarah on the $500 million subsidy for the gas line designed to stick it to the oil companies. They really knew each other quite well. I expect she thought she knew her way better than Freepers know her.

But then Sarah accepted McCain's VP offer and suddenly became a true conservative--and repudiated all the things she did here. (When the MSM called her on it, Sarah and the Republicans cried bias.) Well, I hope she is now a conservative. And I hope she will work with the Republicans in the legislature for a change. If so, this will be good for Alaska. But I remain a skeptic.

I am stunned to. Most Freepers had looked at Sarah’s record before she was ever nominated. So what did McCain say that was wrong? Really would like to know.

I am pro Sarah. My point is the freeper that I posted to never liked Mitt because of his religion. And he is no better than the Sarah bashers, he figures it was Mitt doing the smearing because of what unnamed source? Yes I voted for Mitt. But a smear job is a smear job and diogeneis or however he spells his name is just continuing the smearing.

There have been so many Romney leaks/plants against Gov. Palin, that it is no longer a question.

Only in your mind.

I think you may have one of the first confirmed cases of Romney Derangement Syndrome (RDS). It's very similar to the Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS), only RDS afflicts anti-mormon rednecks instead of leftists.

you’re putting words in my mouth, I said you might be comfortable with a more politically correct conservatism lite if you are of the mindset that thinks Sarah Plain an EXTREMIST.

I’m not a big proponent of banning having been banned myself for a year for being an EXTREMIST over illegal immigration

methinks you’re a social liberal with fiscal and WOT conservative leanings and probably are not Christian...just a hunch

but you’re quite welcome here, there are a few here of your ilk

My ilk? You have no clue what my “ilk” is #1.

Yeah you got me, I’m just your average Wiccan, gawd. Get real. On a serious note, the issue that has been the news since the election is how to remake the party. If you want to the Republicans to lose yet another election then continue, disregard input, fine with me. Carry on.

Your post seems garbled. But let me take a crack at it. I already said some of this before.

The campaign said Sarah was a tax cutter--Sarah raised taxes.

The campaign said Sarah was a spending cutter--Sarah raised spending.

The campaign said she didn't do earmarks--she did.

They said she was ethical--there was an investigation going against her (and despite what you think, she still isn't exonerated.)

and on and on and on. Freepers didn't look at her record. They looked at the promotional stuff put out by some kid in Colorado. When McCain tapped her, jaws dropped here--and I mean Republican jaws. Sure, most of them swung into line . . . even the ones who had been critical of her failure to work with our side. I guess she was just doing that "across the isle" stuff that McCain touts.

the GOP lost and lacked the base support for precisely the perspective you trumpet

you carry on dear.

Horse hockey. Without Palin this loss would have made Dole look good.

She energized the base. She will do so again in four years.

We’re not accepting any more RINOs from the DC tar pit so that we can pat ourselves on the back about their “credibility.” No more.
