Most Implausible Palin Story of the Week?
Weekly Standard ^ | 11.08.08 | Posted by John McCormack

Posted on 11/09/2008 4:18:43 AM PST by Perdogg

Via Isaac Chotiner, Newsweek reports:

The day of the third debate, Palin refused to go onstage with New Hampshire GOP Sen. John Sununu and Jeb Bradley, a New Hampshire congressman running for the Senate, because they were pro-choice and because Bradley opposed drilling in Alaska.

The McCain campaign ordered her onstage at the next campaign stop, but she refused to acknowledge the two Republican candidates standing behind her.

So according to the hatchet man/woman who talked to Newsweek, Palin is such an ideologue about drilling in ANWR that she won't stand next to Bradley, even though John McCain has the exact same position?

The attacks an Palin are not only unethical. They come from someone who is just plain dumb.

The Africa claim is as cliched as the dog ate my homework.

So we have mean spirit combined with low mediocre intellect, and Carl Cameron falls for it?

Sarah has moral convictions, a rarity in today’s political world. No wonder the barbarians hate her. Those who embrace evil are offended by goodness. Intolerance for goodness comes from tolerating evil.

There's that, sure. I was thinking more of the "Palin is a rogue candidate" meme . . . if it is disinformation/agitprop, it is brilliant.

You had the Republican camp pointing fingers at each other, denying that they are pointing fingers at each other, fingers pointing and not pointing everywhere, and the press reporting on it to the exclusion of all else.

I don’t like conspiracy crap either, but though I can only see American politics from afar, I agree with you. It’s pretty obviously a smear job hoping to dim and tarnish a rising star. But I’m not so sure the Democrats would be so interested in her right now. I see more RINO types deadly afraid. She has proven herself in the big rallies and has heartstrings support that none of them have. With the exception of Jindal, she’s the only one people are excited about.

The ticket lost, but she came out a winner. And that is a huge threat to some.

I was planning to vote for myself until Palin was added to the ticket. I am from Arizona and not to happy with McCain as my senator. His selection of Palin pushed me to vote for them nothing else. I am tired of lets get along with the other side I want to see lets kick the other sides behind.

I love this story. If you’re an inside-the-beltway, status quo RINO—bipartisanship is more important that anything you believe in—if you believe in anything.

Sarah did what any rational person would do when confronted by people who oppose most everything that is important to you—she ignored them.

Good going Gov. Palin. The very thing the RINO crowd is whining about her is what makes me respect her that much more.

Barak Obama knows that Africa is a continent. Kenya is a country on the continent of Africa. He knows, just ask him.

God bless Palin.

People, we are going to need a factcheck running constantly on Sarah retroactive from the time of her nomination until 2012. You can see right now where this is headed. They are not EVER going to stop Borking her, because they must make sure she never runs for POTUS. They will keep carpet-bombing her with unsourced stories like this so they can point back to their own article as "proof" of her incompetence. It is already clear how many imbeciles we have in this country who will swallow this BS hook, line & sinker.

I agree. Except Republicans need to do WAY more than keep a factcheck running. For starters, we can call our Congressmen and women and ask/demand they stand on the record and push back the media/dem's outright propaganda. If we throw her under the bus, they will just start working on the next shining star. It's part of their Alinsky playbook.

Editing Error:
According to the back-stabbing pansy a$$ snake-in-the grass who talked to Newsweek from his mother's basement, Palin is so principled about drilling in ANWR and making the USA energy independent she won't stand next to any mealy mouth spineless RINO, even though John McCain has the exact same idiotic tree hugging position as a moonbat Democrat whose never even been to ANWR's desolate North Slope where the drilling would be.
There, fixed it.

IMO Gov Palin should invite these city boy sissies to Alaska fro a Hunting Trip - then leave them all in the middle of nowhere to survive on their own. Oh, and give them all a gun and one bullet each :-)

What good is a Republican Party that you can't tell the difference from them or the Democratic Party?

There you go; pretty much sums up the whole problem.

I saw a Newsweek for the first time in years (literally) while at my parents’ a while back. I remember when it actually weighed more than an ounce and had more articles than advertisements. But that was when Newsweek printed fairly unbiased news stories instead of liberal cud.

The Internet makes the Fairness Doctrine obsolete. It makes the printed media obsolete as well. One day soon the only news that’s fit to read will be on the Internet. And people with birdcages may have to use a foreign print newspaper to line the cages.

And we thank AlGore for his invention.
