“some pages / articles had been removed from the “bound copies edition.” Someone had used a razor blade to go at the 82/83 book... maybe a total of 20 total pages were damaged or missing...
I find this interesting and suspicious”

***********************
Hard to say — these books were MOSTLY in pretty good shape but — folks are lazy and it is not that uncommon to find this kind of thing — I’m trying to keep an open mind about this — honestly, I suspect there is more than one place where The Spec was archived... it MAY even be on microfiche somewhere (still looking) — if i find the same issues missing in the other archives — THEN i’ll be sure. I’ll keep FR posted.

Go down the street a quarter mile to Bank Street College of Education.

That was where William Ayers was studying while Obama was at Columbia. Maybe Obama was hanging with Ayers there. Ayers was a buddy of Edward Said, and Said was Obama’s English professor.

Bank Street College’s periodicals may reveal more than Columbia’s

Hey Moose, check for anything connected to Ayers. Ayers may have been much more visible then, might be easier to find things on him or his wife. Then maybe you can track back to the smaller ‘meetings’ and find some attendance records.

Is there a way to get to a grad list or alumni list?

My wife is a Barnard aluma and is (a) very pretty and (b) has a nice set of, ahem, “lungs”. Of course, even though she was NYC born/bred, she looks like she’s from Orange county, so she was definitely a fish out of water.

yup - I agree with this post. As far as I know, there are only two places at Columbia that can give you an undergraduate degree. They are:

Columbia College (Which is the smallest Liberal Arts SChool in the Ivy League and the only part of Columbia that is “Ivy”) and

The School of General Studies — which is exactly as described by Labyrinthos.

I guess you could count SEAS — the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences @ Columbia as a 3rd possiblity but I believe they only grant Bachelor of Science Degrees...

In any event — BHO has presented himself as a graduate of Columbia College, and if in fact he had attended the School of General Studies instead — (a) we would have caught him in another lie and (b) his admission to Harvard Law is even more miraculous.

I could find a hooker in Vegas.
It would take time, though. I'd need cash, and lots of it. Naturally there would be disappointments. Schoolgirls looking to pay student loans off, experimenting wives, lost souls thinking that Jesus doesn't love them. Eventually, if only by shear determination, I'd find one.

I'd also have to have a believable ‘cover’. I suggest rich guy with vices. So, the ‘funding’ would have to be quite substantial. Casino owner would be even better.

Not that I am in the CIA, mind you. Just a concerned citizen willing to do his part.

I lived in Berkeley during the 60s and 70s when al-Mansour/Don Warden had a radio show (either on KPFA or a small Oakland AM station). I occasionally turned it on out of curiousity about this ranting lawyer who hated capitalists, whites, most everything it seemed. He had a remarkable grasp of an alternative history - alternative at least to anything I had heard. From the FrontPage article, he got Saudi funding in the early 70s, and became a patron of Obama during the early 80s (according to Percy Sutton).

One suggestion, which I make as one who was once editor-in-chief of a campus (albeit law school) newspaper, is to try and talk to the individuals who edited the student paper on those years.

What are the off campus newspapers in the area?

This is a great resource for searching old newspapers prior to the internet, Newspaper Archive. Not all newspapers are included nor all years, so it is limited. It does require a subscription ($9.99/month, $59.00/year).

Just another ‘present’ in a long list of do nothings. I think that there are no records because he didn’t do anything. Maybe he just takes the easy way out.
