NRA did the same thing in OK in Dr. Coburn’s race and caused the GOA to pick up a lot of memberships in OK.

Someone needs to check the NRA and see what party some of these people belong.

I thought the NRA was not politically for either party.

This is the primary reason I have been an on again, off again NRA supporter. You just have to wonder what they are thinking, not unlike the disjointed thinking of the liberal masses.

I was just about to make the plunge again back in with a two year reduced rate and a free bag, but now I’m back in the “why should I be so stupid” mode. Since 1956 the NRA has been not much more than a political disappointment to me.

If they stuck to their guns “so to speak” and kept their political mouth shut I would be a whole lot happier. Unfortunately under the circumstances I would be wondering what is going on under the radar.

GOA, JPFO, and SAF, have never once left the reservation such that it has gotten my attention in the same way NRA manages. I have to ask myself why I continue to be stunned by their consistent political behavior.

The N.R.A. is not a toady of the Republican National Committee. It supports candidates when their records support N.R.A. views. While this is mostly Republicans, it is not always Republicans. Every once in a while, they find a sane democrat.

“Someone needs to check the NRA and see what party some of these people belong.”

You have to remember that the NRA is a single-issue organization. They go by your track-record on gun-votes, nothing else. If a Dem has an A+ rating, and the GOP opponent has an A, they’ll push for the Dem. If their positions on guns are the same, and they think the Dem is more likely to win, they’ll push for the Dem to “buy” political capital with that person to keep him/her on the straight and narrow for that issue. They don’t care about anything else. It’s a mistake, but that’s the way it is. Just like with McCain, his anti-gun past was convieniently forgotten once it looked like Hillary or Obama would be the Dem choice. They’re panicking right now. The 1st Freedom mag I get is filled with DON’T STAY HOME, DON’T VOTE FOR OBAMA, DON’T VOTE 3RD PARTY, A 3RD PARTY VOTE (OR NO VOTE AT ALL) IS A VOTE FOR OBAMA, IF OBAMA WINS THE WORLD WILL END.....etc..etc..

Well, that's it, I'm done with the NRA.
