Mostly support W, but his Compassionate Conservatism and particularly his putting, supporting and leaving dims and RINOS in top and important spots has backfired 100%.

Ok, what about Condi? A well schooled individual who refusese to understand the true relationship between Muslims and the rest of the world. If the Democratic party in Alabama had allowed her father to register to vote, she would be a Democrat.

Would that be the Colin Powell who went before all of America and told us why we MUST invade Iraq and then when things started getting tough, he left us high and dry to deal with the problems.?

That one?

Wow, what a great example of leadership to our military and to our children.

I find it disgraceful.

See how far PC has pushed, now some of are even afraid to say NEGRO.

I get blasted for saying the word negro -- even when I try to explain through the threats and screams that it is a less offensive term than black and a less silly term than African American.

Incidentaly, in response to another poster, one has to be at least 12% negro black to constitute as a black minority so B. Hussein Obama cannot even be considered black by juridical law.

Me too, but the Bowel endorsement gives the talking heads something to yak about other than Joe. This endorsement was all planned for just the right moment.

Of course. It's like when Niger, the country, used to be pronounced Ni-jer (as in 'jar'). Now the pronunciation is Ni-gere, with the szhuh emphasis - all so some liberal airhead activist newsreader on TV won't screw up and say the "N" word.

BTW, I'm not afraid to say NEGRO, I was illustrating a point.

Negro is a rather ordinary word that means black in Spanish and Portugese, nothing else.

Powell is the same idiot who wanted to continue to count the votes. I’ll never forget that.

I also hope he doesn’t forget that it wasn’t the democratic party that got him where he is today.

Osama is taking on more of the people who could not hack it in a tough administration. If you cannot handle tackling terrorism and you have to bail because you cannot stand up to criticism from the other party and other nations then it was a good thing for America he dropped out. Turning on your heals and stabbing the administration and State Department in the back is not a gracious exit. Backing a candidate for any office purely for the color of their skin is a capricious act of spite.

Looking back, Bush 1 and Bush 2, IMHO, made decisions to escalate his stature which were not in our Republics best interests. While their intentions were pure, their bold steps to elevate a man who was NOT the best person for the job backfired on them and hurt the United States of America. If he wants to support Osama, he is welcome to. He is dead to me. Janet Reno had more balls for supporting her President in the face of turmoil than Powell ever had.

He is nothing more than what the Bushes ever were....a man (men) who will support a candidate/person if it serves their own self interest.

Powell saw himself self as Vice President and heir apparent to the Presidency.

When JM picked a woman from Alaska, CP took it as the ultimate insult......understandable.

I think Powell just revealed a part of himself that is truly scary.
Yes, he got even, but to punish millions in order to do it?

If you listened this morning, you could hear the earth rumble as thousands of our friends and brothers turned in their graves.

I think he deliberately held off the endorsement so it would have a big impact in the closing weeks of the campaign. Hopefully most people will see this for what it is. One affirmative action hire endorsing another affirmative action hire because of skin color solidarity.

They also have a lot in common in terms of character. Powell helped start the Iraq War and then went AWOL when the going got tough. He threw people to the wolves in the Plame affair even though he knew the truth. Likewise, Obambi and his cronies helped trigger the mortgage meltdown, then pointed fingers at others when it occurred. And Obambi has a long record of throwing people under the bus when necessary to protect himself.

You’re wrong. He was a good enough politician to get ahead on merit...political merit.

Generals are a club, and they get to select who joins their club. The most important question is, “Is he one of us?”

That is why the vast majority of Generals I’ve met were politicians first. You have to be to join the Club.

In the spanish speaking world, where I am, negro simply means black. a ‘negrero’ is literaly a black driver/manager, or better known as a slave driver. negro is not a negative connotation here. so why should it be where you are? PC sucks!

Yes, I am surprised. I gave this man entirely too much credit for loving his country and being wise.

> They wanted to time it for maximum effect, this takes Joe the Plumber off the plate.

It also takes Palin's appearance on SNL off the plate. They can't allow her to gather Sunday news.

I’d rather be on Joe The
Plumber’s side than Colin Powell’s.

I think I could trust Joe.
