It's gotta be a landslide to take back Congress. No squeaker allowed. I'm doing my utmost best to donate all I can possibly afford to help out. Asking all Freepers and others to give as much as you can. I know the dems put us in this economic mess in 2006 but the stupid voters let them win. This is the greatest battle we are up against right now. We can't let the terrorist (Obama) and his supporters destroy this country since we've gone this far.

McCain/Palin 2008

I agree .... there was a time that VA was a possibility, but no more. I do think it will be closer than we republicans will like, but in the end, I do think Virginia will go red again.

The senate race is, sadly, another issue *sigh*

The solid numbers are really good for McCain and getting very weak for Obama.

He basically has California, Illnois and New York.

That is his solid base along with the usual small suspects on the East coast.

He is getting rocked.

All we would need then is VA (13), OH (20), NV (5) and NM (5). That would get us to exactly 270 EC votes without IA and CO (the 2 other states Bush won in 2004).

It looks doable!! I think we will get CO, doubtful for IA though. Strange that conservative IA would go with Obama..but from what I read it has to do with the ethanol/corn issue? Who knows we might still pull it off. I would love to see this shaping up real quick....and it feels so much better to be where we are now, than 2-3 weeks ago!!!!

AND Delaware! Biden “helped” him there...

Yeah, I guess we are going to have to let Delaware go.

that was a devastating blow by the Obama campaign :)

That’s a very ambitious prediction, Stonewall.

Offhand I’d say you’re too generous in counting NJ, MI, IA and PA all in the McCain column - for sure one of them will go for McCain, probably two, but I doubt all 4 will break for McCain/Palin, unless the post Palin momentum is bigger than mosty people suspect..

Also McCain is only down two points in Washington State and three points in New Jersey. This could be a polital beatdown of epic proportions a la Reagan 1984. :)

Bubba Barack met with Bubba Clinton yesterday for a long meeting. Evidently, Bubba Bill told him he needed to look more enthused, hide big mouth Bubba Joe, the loose cannon and gaffe machine, get tougher, insult all the older voters by mocking McCain’s war wounds and the older voters’ “computer illiteracy”, quit saying words like “stinky fish” and “lipstick”, get “angry” and lash out. UH . . Beware Barack, Bill & Hillary are setting up 2012 for Hillary . . . I’m just saying . . .

I too suspect the EV will not be all that close this time. I think McCain has a very good chance in WI, MN, PA, MI etc. Of course taking any two of them would make it a pretty comfortable EV margin.

Where I live and work on the Eastside I’m seeing far more
Dino signs than for Fraudoire.

“Also fewer O stickers - even a few Nobama ones.”

I have noticed something my self. The Obama stickers seemed to be everywhere in Western WA. I could not drive on I5 or 405 without passing several. Since the RNC they seemed to have disappeared. I put my McCain/Palin sticker and the Sarah-Cuda sticker on last week and have been actively searching for an Obama car to drive by and sneer a little. I have yet to see any. Strange.

And my Renton neighbor 2 doors down had a Obama yard sign in her window since just before the DNC. Last week she removed it and replaced it with a Clinton/Gore 96 sign. A PUMA I bet.

I was driving in Nashville yesterday by Vanderbilt University. There was a group of Obama supporters holding signs to honk for O....5 pm rush hour in stalled traffic, only 1 honk in 5 minutes. That was suprising in this area of town!

My only question at this point is can McCain reach 400 ev votes. He'll carry most of the Bush 286. I think Colorado will come around, barely. Maybe New Mexico and Iowa are losses. But NH, Wisconsin, Michigan, PA are going to flip red. If Obama doesn't dump Biden and pick Hillary as veep, there's no way Obama is carrying PA. The Clinton's and Easy ED Rendell won't let that happen. And she needs obama to have a humiliating loss nationally, to knock him out of any chance to get the democrat nomination in 2012. Combine this with the fact that obama is an idiot, and says stupid things on a daily basis, the conservative base is fired up ready to rock. McCain will win by at least 10 points nationally. Will this be enough to get to 400 ev votes?

Why Iowa for Obama? I’ve never been there, but from what I know about it, it is about as close to fly-over middle America country as you can get. No large metroloitan cities, no meccas of leftist activity like SF, Seattle, Portland, or Denver. And it not the home state of Obama or Biden. Again, Why Iowa?

I'm just basing this on the democrat turnout for the caucus. Hopefully I'm wrong and McCain takes it. I've been more focused in on PA, Wisconsin, Michigan. I think McCain wins those states.
