Wow, Wow, a Thousand Times Wow

What did we see tonight?

Tonight, we either saw a watershed in American politics, a tour de force, the most striking and graceful debut in our nation’s political life, and a national introduction that makes Barack Obama’s 2004 convention address look like small potatoes… or we saw what we wanted to see, and the country’s persuadable independents saw something else. I’m afraid to believe. If I’m wrong, I don’t really know what Americans want. I know conservatives are thrilled to pieces, and they ought to be. She knocked it out of the park. I don’t think she could have delivered that speech any better. Even if I hadn’t suggested a line, I would say that the speech hit almost every note just right. (Did the Obama fans feel this way? Is this what their exultation feels like? Wonderful. I’m glad they get to experience it too.)

My e-mail box is thrilled. Cam's Talkbackers are thrilled — "you called down the thunder, and now ya have it."

McCain won because of McCain not because of the media. McCain was not my initial choice but it was clear to me that he would be one of tow left standing.

Why I love Sarah Palin (and who should love her too).

1. A person who lives her faith, with no boasts and no defensiveness either. (social conservatives especially but all people who love and honor their own faith)

2. A proud wife and parent of five children, who finds time for them and her busy and important job. (working moms everywhere)

3. A proud parent of an infant that far too many parent’s would have chose to abort instead of dealing with their special needs. (parents, grandparents and families everywhere who have chosen life over abortion when the random mix of the DNA presented challenges)

4. A record of political principal above party in a record of accomplishment and reform, from local schools, to running her home town, to heading her state’s ethics reform commission, to the governor’s mansion of her state. (good government advocates, regardless of party)

5. A record of accomplishment with hard but fair dealing with entrenched political and business interests against their long history of seeing the taxpayers as just sources of revenue and power. (cost efficient government advocates everywhere, whether GOP, Dim or independent; as well as small government conservatives)

6. Salt of the earth values and logic. (every small town in America)

7. Strong - unafraid to speak plainly - and fearless - unafraid of who might take offense. (everyone who understands that leaders lead, they do not follow the mob, and America’s President, and Vice President must lead, even when the crowd disagrees)

8. Smart, as in wise, as in wisdom that surpasses what popularly passes for intelligence. (all who understand that a leader without wisdom is no more than the head of a committee of followers)

9. While being smart, strong, fearless, down to earth, independent, principled, a true servant leader, a loving spouse and parent and a person of faith, it doesn’t go to her head; she knows she is no one’s savior, no one’s superior, just a person seeking a higher calling of service to her fellow citizens. (anyone who ignores their own party label, their own political policy preferences and wants leaders they can trust to put the country first)

Sarah beat Obama like an ugly pinata, and then mopped the floor with the remnants.

If John sticks to his promise of a single term, he’s just groomed the Republican candidate for President of the United States in 2012.

I just don’t want to visit the left-wing blogs right now. They’re in mourning.

and because she has done even small things with integrity, she will handle the most difficult things the same way.

Exactly. And that is exactly what the desiccated crowd in the media and Washington don't understand.

Amen. And, thanks. Sarah, with her son soon to deploy to Iraq, has with that alone earned my respect as a parent with a child in harms way. Her intelligence, charm, and poise along with her ability to state a case for this ticket and against their opponent, has earned my vote.

from another thread - this comment by Sourcery...

Sarah’s “star power” may soon exceed Obama’s. She is Margaret Thatcher, Sarah Connor and Princess Diana, all in one package.

...led to this reply - ladies and gents, I think we have a winner...

===========================

Great observation - Great T-shirt idea!

This list on the front...

Margaret Thatcher +
Sarah Connor +
Princess Diana...

and on the back of the tee-shirt

= SARAH PALIN

Wow! What a great post. I may have to steal some of your lines.

You are welcome to lift anything that will help someone to vote for Sarah Palin and John McCain.

Palin and Rudy have paved the way for McCain to go for Obama’s jugular. I loved it when the crowd chanted “Zero” at the mention of Obama’s name in Rudy’s speech (not to mention the chanting of “Drill, baby, drill!”).

The Obama campaign came out with a silly response to the speech. Now they are pushing the line, “She was for the bridge to nowhere before she was against it”.

How lame is that? They have to steal a slogan the Republicans used to get rid of Kerry four years ago?
Did Joe “THE PLAGUARISER” think of that?

Change you can believe in. What a bunch of pussies. And is is even funnier that they are attacking the Vice Presidential Candidate, NOT the Presidential Candidate.

I adore Sarah. I’ve always thought that Dame Julie Andrews was the beau ideal of femininity. Well, she still is, but Sarah is right up there with her.
