Defy us and we will crush you... Russia's warning
dailymail.co.uk ^ | 19th August 2008 | Will Stewart

Russia yesterday threatened to 'crush' anyone who dared to defy it, after moving missile launchers within range of Georgia's capital.

The provocative move throws down the gauntlet to Nato leaders meeting today in emergency session on the new Cold War crisis.

U.S. intelligence said the Kremlin had moved several SS-21 missile launchers into the rebel enclave of South Ossetia, putting them in range of Tbilisi.

The move allows Russia to pull out of Georgia proper as it has promised but punish Tbilisi at any moment at the push of a button.

Russian president Dmitry Medvedev vowed a 'crushing response' if Georgia or anyone else dares to defy Moscow's will in the tinderbox Caucasus region. ...

Mr Medvedev was at his most hawkish since the conflict erupted, telling war veterans: 'If someone thinks they can kill our citizens, kill soldiers and officers fulfilling the role of peacekeepers, we will never allow this.

'Anyone who tries to do this will receive a shattering blow.'

His warning followed Russian threats to unleash nuclear weapons on Poland in a future conflict because Warsaw agreed to installations linked to America's defence shield.

Moscow has also indicated that it will arm its Baltic fleet with nuclear weapons.

Awarding medals to servicemen involved in the conflict in Georgia, Mr Medvedev insisted that Russia has always been 'a peace-loving nation'.

He added: 'The Russian, Soviet state has never started a war. But even the most peace-loving state should have an effective army.'

The Tu-22M3 doesn’t have the range to fly off the coast of the U.S. as per heavy strategic bombers. The nearest that they even get to Europe is flying down the Norwegian coast before making their way back to Russia. They don’t have the range and are not equipped for air-air refuelling.

The Tu-95MS Bear H that you see off North America are heavy strategic bombers. All the Tu-95MS that you see are new-build aircraft. The last came off the production line in the early 1990s. The Tu-95MS are air-launched cruise missile carriers and fulfil the strategic role. Think of B—52H in the pure ALCM role. Tu-22M3 is the Backfire. Blindfire is the name for a British air defense tracking radar.

He said quite defferent. He said that if someone try to attack Russian citizens ever again will get the crushing response. But what is unusual about it? Will America forfeit your citizens if someone will attack them somewhere in the world?

Thanks for the ping. At least they’re being honest about their threats now, and not pretending to be “friendly”.

God Bless the US and her Allies.

I’ve read your posts on the thread, and you are thinking like I am about this. With the alliance you also have to remember - Venezuela, Cuba, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, to some extent North Korea, then add in all the places that are having trouble with terrorist activities - Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Spain, Britain, parts of Africa, Indonesia, and probably other smaller countries I’m missing as well.

It’s a huge threat, and one the left either realizes and supports due to their alliance with communist/marxist ideology, OR they really do believe the Russian propaganda due to their BDS and Anti-America attitudes.

Well, that’s my theory at least. I think the Soviets/Communists and the Islamic Radicals & States are using each other, and both group thinks that after America is gone they can beat each other and assume control...

I’m pretty sure that was what was going on between Hilter and the Islamic Leaders and states that fought on his side in WWII. We have to remember that the Soviets were going to join with Hitler, until Hitler backstabbed Stalin. I’m pretty sure the Soviets are probably thinking back on that plan and saying it looks good - even without Germany and Japan...

I do not disagree with your thoughts in comment, whatsoever.

I don’t think they are ready for it, militarily, but I don’t think we are ready, psychologically, to confront a belligerent with a large force at the ready

Contrarywise, I do think the U.S. is ready psychologically. Beneath the veneer comprised of all the whining and simpatico verbiage we get to hear every day, there exists a hard core survivalist instinct yet very much alive throughout America. Telling Americans "what to do"; bullying Americans is something which activates every American no matter their religion or politics. The very hard leftists don't like bullying, either. lol.

so far, we have given him no reason to believe he has overreached.

Courtesy of the red, white, and blue:
"Oh, justice will be served and the battle will rage:
This big dog will fight when you rattle his cage.
An' you'll be sorry that you messed with the U.S. of A.
'Cos we'll put a boot in your ass, it's the American way."
---

One of the benefits, I've come to see through my life, about having left and right, and all the freedom to voice in-between is that the spirit of "fight" remains a vital part of our country psyche. The left fights the right and vice versa. In the meantime, it means shards for breakfast for everyone. However, when calamity or threat arises, both sides see the larger threat, and while not necessarily banding together to fight the larger threat, they do work to fight off the oppressor. And this from years and years and years of daily training, and activism, if you will. :)

In my post to you I should’ve added: I’m sure the Soviets have tweaked the plan a bit in the last 50 years though. I think Reagan pushed back their time table a bit (an understatement). I think they (Soviets/KGB/Mafia/Oligarchy) just went “underground” or “undercover” whichever you prefer...

I hope you are right - there is definitely an undercurrent there that’s not readily apparent on the surface. Deep down I think more people than would care to admit would readily fight for this country if a threat they recognized came through. The Soviets are being pretty clear now about where they stand, and the only ones that will eventually be still speaking against them will be your hard-core commie agitators, IMHO.

No georgia didnt start it. We will do what we must(like Obi Wan told Anakin in episode 3 hehe) for democracy.
The fact is.Russia handed out passports like candy and goaded the Georgians to attack by attacking georgian border positions and georgian forces by proxy. That gave the russians the argument they needed(only a fool doesnt see this,or a brainwashed anti-US russian)The georgians got sick of it and attacked. Not to mention the russians have been building up their armor and personnel in the area, and shot down a georgian drone a few weeks ago. Why was russia building up so much armor and personel on the other side and shooting georgian drones down over a the sovereign nation of georgia? How did they mobilize a armor column so fast, anyone that been in the military would tell you that just doesn’t happen overnight. Russia planned this and you fell for it making the georgians the aggressors. They baited the georgians.Thankfully they are people in the world that know what we are dealing with.

I agree — it is a huge power grab of no small proportions and involving many countries; allies and targets, alike. Just scanning recent news around the world show fascinating entries concerning the “axis of evil” and its allied partners. Something big is certainly up; or, it’s all a huge bluff.

I know the left vaunts Maslow's Heirarchy of Needs; but I've always found the model to be valid and constructive. When the left or right in this country perceive they may be reduced from their high level to that of subsistence level, they awaken. They fight. Democrats trend primarily to focus on that particular model in re domestic issues; Republicans trend primarily to focus on that particular model in re international issues. Democrats focus on "internal" threats; Repubs on "external" threats.

Bottomline, is both sides, and all in between are kept quite "aware" of "threat" issues (hunger, racism, poverty, etc. etc.) and the means by which to fight threats.

The Soviets are being pretty clear now about where they stand, and the only ones that will eventually be still speaking against them will be your hard-core commie agitators, IMHO.

I'm going to presume here that you mean the only ones that will eventually be still speaking FOR the aggressors, will be the hard-core commie agitators. Correct me if I've misunderstood, pls. If I haven't, I couldn't agree more with you.

America has done a very good job, IMHO, of exposing external threats to the wellbeing of our country. What the Bear has done is reveal the sharp outline of the blade. Americans, whether in their dreams at night, or running backbrain during the day, perceive the threat. They are going to have to choose. Each individual, is going to have to choose. Whether to live under the boot (appeasement); or to fight for liberty. Russia has clearly advanced the clarity, in its recent moves; that which had been lightly "camouflaged" by the standard he said/she said forms of newsreporting of our age.

And in this manner, might we see our domestic enemies and traitors more clearly.

The fact is.Russia handed out passports like candy and goaded the Georgians to attack by attacking georgian border positions and georgian forces by proxy. ==

Russia handed her passports like candy? Isn’t it the sovereign right of any country to give up her passports? Did Russia forbid or any influenced to America to hand over her passports whoever you like?
After all Russia just handed her passports but it is the free choice of Osetian people to get for it. Russia did never compel them to get Russian passports. It was thier free choice of Osetian people. I do not understand why you so hate Osetians? Hat they did wrong to America? Why you need to let Gerogians to eliminate S.Osetian people?

Why was russia building up so much armor and personel on the other side and shooting georgian drones down over a the sovereign nation of georgia? ==

Beacuse there were war in 1992. That war as today was started by Gerogians again same way. Again georgians started to shell Tskhinval from heights around the city. Same as today in 1992 there were lot of civilian casulties. Russia wanted to prevent it today but still failed. About 1500 civilians were killed. At least Russia punished the war starters.

How did they mobilize a armor column so fast, anyone that been in the military would tell you that just doesn’t happen overnight. Russia planned this and you fell for it making the georgians the aggressors.==

Russia can act very swiftly if she need to do it.

Thankfully they are people in the world that know what we are dealing with.==

I see it as the people got duped by MSM propaganda. I’m for one always try to hear BOTH sides then make my mind.

But Saakashvilli lost real war but won propaganda war. What do you think? Guy simply lived on CNN news stream. CNN got him the trubune to do war propaganda. So he duped nmany people like you. It is your weakness to get duped so easily.

“The Russian, Soviet state has never started a war.” - Russian “President” Dmitry Medvedev -==

You changed citation for propaganda. Medvedev didn’t say word Soviet.

“If anyone thinks they can get away with killing our citizens and officers, we will not allow this,” Dmitry Medvedev said. “Anyone who tries to do something of the kind will receive a crushing response, ==

I honestly do not understand what is wrong with crashing response on the killikng your citizens? How can Russi act differently if some other country attacked russian citizens? Will America forfeit your citizens under such attack?
