Years ago several of us were reading DU and watching how low and vicious those people were - talking trash about Laura Ingraham’s recent diagnosis of breast cancer. DUmmies thought that was delicious and were laughing and mocking like the creeps they are.
Then Elizabeth Edwards (posting under her own name) made a classy comment along the lines of, “Laura Ingraham is another vicitm of cancer and this is totally inappropriate for anyone to make fun of her or to laugh at her.”
IMO, that elevated Elizabeth Edwards to heights well above the rabble over there. I wish there was a way he could be taken down (where he belongs) and at the same time, protect her from the humiliation she’s dealing with. I’m personally praying for her because this has to be beyond painful for her!

Good post. I try not to take joy in the suffering of others, especially over stuff like this. I am often very deficient. I feel bad for her and her kids. I did not like her going after Cheney’s family in 2004. I won’t do the same. May she and her children get the support they need. I have no joy in a family tragedy exposed.
I don’t post often, but your post prompted me to. I too prayed for Mrs. Edwards, as sincerely as I did for Tony Snow. Party doesn’t matter when cancer is in play. Would not wish that on anyone. . .unlike George Cloony who thought it was great that Charlton Heston had Alzheimer’s. I just buried my MIL on 7/27. The hell she went through with Alz for the last 12 years was unfathomable. . .
Think anyone posting on DU; breaks the ‘class’ barrier. NO ONE is deserving of the venomous rot that DU delivers. Cancer or NOT. . .
Very good post. People, of either party, willing to mock cancer are quite conspicuous in their lack of judgement or intelligence.
Indeed it does especially if she truly loves him and wants him to remain with her and is prepared to fight for this to happen, not only is she fighting the cancer but she is fighting for her marriage.
