People are astounded by the large numbers of attendees at Obama’s speech?
This is Germany in the summer - many are on vacation and they only work 35 hours a week at the most.
They have plenty of time to stand around and listen to speeches.
Reflects my opinion, too. I´m German, and I´ve no say in US elections. So why is he campaigning in my country? He´ll be welcome as US president (just like a President McCain), since he will represent a befriended nation of my country. But he´s no special person to me. Just a senator of a legislative of a foreign country.

Anyone can say anything pleasing to vast numbers of people if they are NOT BOUND TO COMMIT TO KEEP THOSE WORDS.
We can promise people the moon and the willing crowds will expect to receive the moon - if we are not planning to deliver.
Thus it is easy to say and mean what you never intend.
All I want from Obama is his birth certificate cleared up!
