OK, found it at #73 posted on 03/12/2008 8:23:12 PM PDT by grey_whiskers.

Now I’m not so sure that’s such a good plan, there. As I wrote, I don’t agree with everything the President says and does.

However, without being privy to every secret thing that is going on, perhaps we need to be patient on the Iranian issue? There’s more than one way to skin a cat, they say.

If we act hastily as some have suggested and annihilate Iran, I think we would lose our allies and turn every man’s hand against us. We were so careful in our attacks in Iraq, which I bet is one reason why we get some tips on weapons caches and personnel.

Still, it’s great grief to lose good, wise men because we’re busy bending over backwards.

Sometimes....sometimes we really do need to be subtle and patient. Very patient.

Now I suppose one question (among many) is: will our nation turn its back before a long term strategy can bear fruit in Iraq; as was done in Vietnam?

The reason I'm so frustrated with the President is twofold.

First, he's inarticulate.

Second, he's tone deaf.

Look at his speech on the economy. He said a lot of the right things, factually. But paradoxically, his delivery made him look like a simpering buffoon while at the same time going right over the head of his intended audience.

Or at the Dubai ports. We were going to give this concession to one of the most modern, un-jihadist places in the Middle East, and so reward them for their modernity, as well as (the quid pro quo) gain a foothold to surreptitiously inspect packages and crates.

But the President just put his foot down on his *own* say so and starved his defenders of any material.

Then you have Harriet Miers. I even wrote a vanity defending this (although I know now my reasoning was wrong). As it turns out, Miers had written many of the anti-terrorism regulations, and would be the 5-4 margin to "rubber stamp" them on the Supreme Court, thereby undercutting the efforts of the libs to render the country unsafe. But (other than the ham-handed explanation that he was throwing red meat to the Evangelicals) Dubya was silent.

So again, all he did is cut the ground out from under his supporters.

Full Disclosure: Again, "jobs Americans won't do" my ass.

My guess here is he is trying to keep Mexico from imploding and following Raul Castro and / or Chavez. Or (for lack of any other guess) the Mexican government has photos of him in compromising positions with "Kristen". Or (I hope not) he really believes in the North American Union...

Cheers!
