Mitt Romney is committed to barreling ahead in his bid for the Republican nomination, despite the odds being stacked against him, said his son, Tagg, a senior campaign adviser, in an interview today.
**snip**
In a measure of just how dire the situation is for the campaign, Mr. Romneys advisers have been discussing the existence of three different categories of delegates: those that have been already been awarded and bound to a candidate; those that have been promised to someone but are not technically bound; and those that have not yet been allocated.
They are mapping out a farfetched possibility premised on conservative fears continuing to fester against Mr. McCain, which they hope fuels a series of wins for Mr. Romney and then perhaps get him to a point where he has enough momentum to wrest some of those promised but not officially bound delegates into his column at a contested convention.

Mitt will need to shake another 35 million out from under his couch cushions in order to keep going.
i will repeat what i posted earlier...
Here is my take...
Mitt and Huck are in this together...
McCain does NOT need Huck..
Mitt needs Huck and Huck needs mitt...
Mitt will offer Huck the VP and Huck gives Mitt his delegates...ensuring Mitt the victory....
You see, Huck needs Mitt more than McCain needs Huck...
Is this warped?
Yes!
I’m glad you agree with me :>)
Romney would be STUPID to give up now...
California was decided by a combination of VERY early absentee voting, with Giuliani and Thompson getting around 10-12%, and THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of Republicans being denied thier right to vote on primary day, for one reason or another.
In Addition, both Washigton and Kansas on Saturday are CAUCUS’s, and Romney has done VERY well at those..
Louisiana will likely go Huck ot McCain...
The Math isn’t good for Romney. He needs to win 947 out of the 1254 remaining delegates to win the nomination.
“Romney Prepared to Keep On Going”
Because it’s going so well so far.
I wouldn't call it fear. More of a kind of primal loathing...
I feel the same way about liberals.
Yes.
Try impossible. The best he can do is cripple Republican ticket for the fall.
Both are hard charging and strong willed, proud men in their own right...and political "blood" has been spilled. It is not likely that they will make nice.
But, it has happened before. Reagan did choose the elder Bush as his VP and there was a lot of antipathy between them at the time. Eight years later, the elder Bush was grateful for the experience. Reagan proved him wrong.
Mitt should stay in anyway, just on the chance he can amass enough delegates to influence McCain for the good if possible.
Brilliant! (I wish it were true...)
But wait a minute. How did Huck pay for all that radio time in Georgia on Monday?
McCain is broke. Hmmmmm........
>> The Math isnt good for Romney.
It’s funny (not) how we ask our Military to keep on fighting despite bad math. God forbid we ask the same of the politicians that inevitably send our defenders off to battle.
Romney has nothing to lose and I doubt he will pour in millions like he did on Super Tuesday.
At the very least he is campaigning for 2012.
Erm, whatever you’re on, I’d like some! I even like the vision.
Grow up already. Gees.
“Eight years later, the elder Bush was grateful for the experience. Reagan proved him wrong.”
They made nice for the run, but don’t think the Bush family ever got an invite to the White House during those eight years. Not even for a tuna sandwich.
Huck HATES Mitt. I can’t stand Huck and am not big on McCain. If McCain picks Huck I will be bereft of any hope for the GOP. Mitt and Huck will never get together. It’s personal for Huck and I believe he is a false prophet.
