Thought we were talking about your incorrect assertion re Hunter.

Now you change the subject to Thompson...??

I’d like a Romney/Thompson ticket, but Thompson/Romney would be fine too.

“You dont know who the GOP nominee will be any more than I do...”

Yes, but I know who won’t be, ... Duncan Hunter.

"they also think."

Ad Verecundiam, but I see we're making progress.

I don’t care if I get flamed for this or not. I think a lot of us supported President Bush in the last election even if we were not entirely happy with what his policies. Some of us voted for him...including me, just because he was a Republican.

That said, we have really watered down our party. I have decided to stay true to my beliefs and convictions. If it means a Dem in the white house.....so be it. We can pick up the pieces later.

Eventually I believe it will come around again and maybe the next time we'll get it right.

Dick had some good things to say and one of them is the fractured state in the Republican party. HOWEVER what I am seeing and hearing is yes, Dick is right it has been very fractured and many have had many different candidates and fighting hard against each other's candidates. We aren't afraid to take each other on here and try to pin down truth or our own interpretation of that truth or truths and weigh them against our solid values (unlike DEMS!--There ain't no difference there and solid values for Dems! Don't even get me started!).

Republicans have a big tent and we are doing some, 'figurin'. And we are looking around at others in the tent and finding out a little more about what inspires the focus on one candidate or not another. In an odd way there is a sort of roll call going on and we are all finding out sometimes surprising things about who all is in here. Sometimes with glee other times with incredible disappointment and even anger and disgust (more at some of the hateful postings). Now I think we are getting a sense and choosing to focus.

What I am seeing is people are starting to focus and bind together around one candidate, slowly and surely and that candidate is Mitt Romney and they also love Fred, just don't think he is going to maybe make it to the big dance. Two conservatives.

There are probably still some staunch and solid Fredittes that disagree with me adamantly, and I understand that and I understand their staunch support for Fred. But the coalescing is happening. We aren't a bunch of sheep here though like the Dems. We fight hard for what and who we believe in and we don't always toe the line. We will and are coming together though and we do it in our own time and in our own way and not in the MSM time and way.

We also have not had Guiliani in the mix, so that is going to bring on another roll call as I mentioned above as Rudy calls to another group of Republicans. In the end though I am sure Romney will be the man and we will all coalesce even more so to fight for a candidate that we believe will bring a bright light and security to our future and lead us with core values and fiscal conservancy while also fending off the greatest fear--the Hildabeast or the Hypewhisperer.

I've noticed some other "principled" types looking forward to that prospect. Politics is about pragmatism also; you have to stay in the game to win it. I would never, ever, willingly hand over our troops, who have suffered and sacrificed so much, to the enemy.

Nana, the only thing Hunter stands to win in Nevada is the jackpot on a nickel slot machine because he's going nowhere, win or lose.

All he's doing now is siphoning funds and votes from the only viable conservative candidate in the race, Fred Thompson.....in other words he's beginning to look like a spoiler.

I'd say the same thing if their roles were reversed.

Especially the nice black woman, who said something like “Yeah, I’d like to hear him explain how he knows they won’t vote for Obama”

And they all thought Edwards had won the debate.

“Huck is a thoroughgoing fraud and by the hour he loses support. SIXTEEN percent in MI, in a state he’s actively campaigned in?”

He’s in a death spiral....he’ll be the next one out - probably after he finishes 3rd in SC.”

3rd ... NO, HE’LL BE FOURTH ... after McCain, Romney and Thompson (not necessarily in that order).

Hillary’s at 55% to 40% for Uncommitted, isn’t this kind of...pathethic for someone running practically unopposed?

Yes,this is really amazing...45% of her own DemocRATS wouldn't even vote for her...could this really be Clinton fatigue ?...

I know. I’m ex-AF and my cousin is soon to be ex-Navy because he can retire and not move to China Lake from Mugu next year as a GS-15. He doesn’t want a job at Edwards either. 33 years is enough to do something else.

“I think you’re right. The early state strategy is all about “The Big Mo’”, but, so far, no man has won two states in a row. That bodes well for those who focused on later states, meaning Rudy and, to a lesser extent, Fred. It certainly does not help those who’ve spent their wad in Iowa and New Hampshire.”

Rudy is toast. You don’t get a nomination by being in single digits in the first 5 states. It just doesnt happen. Unless he wins real big in FL, which I dont see happening, he’s a no-show.

And Fred... we’ll he put a stake in the ground in Iowa and got 3rd. Now he’s standing his ground in SC. He will need to be 1st, or at a minimum beat Huckabee decisively, to stay viable.

Romney is winning the nomination the right way. He’s been in every state and either won or placed. He’s going to make an effort in SC and in FL and is still in the race unless he drops off badly there. He won’t imho. Romney will probably win NV.

McCain lost MI but can recover if he wins SC. Then on to FL where it’s a battle royale.

At this point, it looks like the two candidates with the best paths to nomination are McCain and Romney. Huck, Rudy and Thompson have a chance, albeit slim, and its still an open race. Thank you Mitt for slowing down the McCain amnesty express!!!

I agree with you, La Enchiladita. And I absolutely do not want Hillary nor Barack Hussein Obama picking our next Supreme Court justice(s).

"could this really be Clinton fatigue ?..."

Black Americans finally had enough of the same old crap this time around. Republicans too. Obama is clean, fresh and showers everyday. McCain is old, deals dirty with the GOP and smells bad. Change it all, LOL!

whew...that might one of the best posts of the day here..I agree with Lady Vet but you are right too, we do have to support our troops..got to think about that...i think what we have to do is support our troops and also keep the heat on whomever we nominate, and elect, to follow our main conservative Republican principals...The person we nominate should not have a problem with supporting the troops and following conservative principals...

Yes that is a great line.
