I heard a discussion of Mormonism last evening on EWTN between Raymond Arroyo and a prominent Catholic theologian. The theologian said Mormonism in the last thirty years has been moving closer and closer to mainstream Christianity in the U.S. He also said the anti-abortion movement had no better friend than the Mormon Church. He also liked Mitt’s speech on religion in the public square—he called it unique in political history, a strong statement against the increasing secularism that is being foisted on us by the courts and determined atheists.

All in all, the discussion was extremely positive and admiring of Romney and his speech. Let the Huckabees of the world be bigots. I want nothing to do with him.

Well, I don't seem to recall any LDS condemnation of Mitt Romney's previous stand on abortion, either from members of the church hierarchy or from any prominent members. Also, Sen. Orrin Hatch has been very supportive of embryonic stem cell taxpayer-financed research.
