I find one interesting flaw with the analogy: You would not be a sole proprietorship, a corporation, and a limited liability partnership all at the same time. Trinitarians assert something that sounds to me like, "This fruit is an apple, a banana, and an orange all at the same time. Some people way back when tasted apple, for a brief while, some tasted banana, and after that, everyone tasted orange. But the apple and the banana are still there, and you'll taste them some day after you're dead."

Of course you can, and I've done it, as have many other people.

Let's say you're a doctor. You will likely practice medicine in my state through either a professional corporation (PC) or limited liability partnership (LLP). Let's say you own some expensive medical equipment such as an MRI. In my state, you will likely operate this through a corporation as a requirement of financial institutions (so they can easily take control of the asset and transfer ownership in the event of adverse circumstances). Finally, let's assume you buy and sell collectables. Since you are facing little legal liability, you will likely operate this as a sole proprietorship.

It is certainly possible for you to examine a patient, while employees are performing diagnostic tests, while you are taking orders from your website. In this case, you are doing business in three different forms at the same time.
