The video was part of a diversity training program, but a city official said portrayals of white people struck a nerve among employees. (From city of Denver video )The city administration has pulled a diversity training video after a white employee said it unfairly singled out white people as racist and sexist. The eight-minute video, titled "Laughing Matters," depicted a character named Billy making off-color sexist and racist jokes on topics such as Carlos not doing any work while waiting for supplies.
"Right now, their (the city's) diversity program is racially motivated against white males," said Dennis Supple, a white heating mechanic who has worked for the city for about 18 months.
Kathy Maloney, spokeswoman for the Career Service Authority, announced Tuesday the video was being pulled.

I just completed our mandatory harassment refresher course at work. At least it made all races, genders and sexual orientations out to be clueless and oafish clods, not just white males. I was much relieved as a member of the latter class.
No headway, they just crossed the line and got caught. Only problem, next year the line will be a bit further left.

And I loved the joke the film’s creator made by using the old stereotype that a man named Carlos can only be spoken to on the phone in Spanish....I can laugh at that one, right??
