Rice: Kosovo has no economy, Bosnia not real state

DALLAS -- Condoleezza Rice looked at the Balkans in an interview with the Dallas Morning News over the weekend.
The United States Secretary of State assessed that the post war developments in Bosnia-Herzegovina and Kosovo have not shown enough progress.
With three presidents, three separate police forces and three armies, Bosnia does not operate as a real state, Rice said.
She also described Kosovo as a territory that "still has no economy." "Essentially, Kosovo still does not have economy," Rice told the Texas daily.
"Bosnia is not a true state in the way it functions," she said. She pointed out that the idea was to stop the war in the Balkans and assessed that the transition has not produced good results.

ANd how many American academic and politicla eltiists, from COngress to CNN to CBS to ABC to any college campus in the nation, will insist that Bosnia and Kosovo, thanks to CLinton’s interference, are so much better success stories than, say, Afghanistan is now.
Is she backing off!?
!?!?!?!
The official line might be that “the idea was to stop the war in the Balkans”, but anyone who has honestly monitored the events in the Balkans from 1992 to the present must conclude that “Appeasement of the Moslems” was the true “idea”.
Is there a single time in history when “Appeasement” produced good results? I haven’t found one. “Appeasement”, from what I can tell, has only served to “create monsters”.
The British appeased Hitler in the 1930s, persuaded the Czechs to do the same, and we got World War II.
Churchill “appeased” the Soviets by abandoning and betraying General Mihailovich and enabling a communist dictator to come to power in the former Yugoslavia.
Europe and the U.S. “appeased” the Islamists by designating the poor “Bosnians” and “Kosovars” as “the victims” of the Serbian “aggressors”, arming them and sanctioning and bombing the Serbs, who knew very early on what the Moslem agenda was really all about. The Serbs were fighting the war on terror before George Bush ever had to pronounce ‘Al Queda’, but Western “appeasement” of the Islamists (the “victims”) gave the terrorists a firm foothold in the Balkans, the crossroads between East and West.
No, I can’t think of one arena where “Appeasement” “ended a war”.
We don’t need a secretary of state that’s going to carry on the legacy of Madeleine Albright.
One question that often pops up on the Nort (Chicago Speak) Side is, “what are you?”
