Re: Sheehan running against Nancy?

Yes. Sheehan lives at least sixty miles outside the district in a little town near Sacramento, Dixon, California. Apparently there is no residence requirement to run for Congress.

Good news, good news.

The Armenian genocide has actually already been recognized. In 1981 President Ronald Reagan recognized the Armenian genocide in a speech about the Holocaust. In 1984 Congress passed a resolution setting April 24 as a day of remembrance of the Armenian Genocide. In 1996 and 2004 resolutions were passed that limited the usage of U.S. aid to Turkey that was being used to fund the Turkish lobby in the United States.

So Pelosi’s little stint bringing it up now is all about damaging US-Turkey relations and cutting off supplies to the troops.

Fortunately the stint has apparently failed. I’m guessing the next step is a resolution to attach blame to the Turks in the events of May 29, 1453. I’m sure that there are some Greeks still with a chip on their shoulder about that one.
