Dems Withdraw Support of Armenian Genocide Resolution

WASHINGTON — A House vote to label the century-old deaths of Armenians as genocide was in jeopardy Tuesday after several Democrats withdrew their support and sounded alarms it could cripple U.S. relations with Turkey.

The loss of support is a major setback to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other Democratic leaders on Capitol Hill, who have fiercely defended the resolution to Republicans and the Bush administration as a moral imperative in condemning the World War I-era killings of up to 1.5 million Armenians by Ottoman Turks.

Do we have a case where the Armenian Diaspora is more interested in Armenia than their "host" country's national interest? The Armenian Diaspora is of course just one of many.

If so the Armenian Diaspora can only rejoice at a U.S. - Turkey split.

I was alerted to this problem by Professor Huntington's book, Who Are We? Tufts University professor Tony Smith was just one of several referenced by Dr. Huntington.

Smith says that his research [on home country diaspora in the U.S.] yielded three primary conclusions: First, he concluded that ethnic influence is real, especially in the Democratic Party, which made a self-conscious effort to portray itself as multiethnic. Second, he argued that this influence is profoundly negative, and has led to incoherence and hypocrisy in U.S. foreign policy , , , ,

As the Armenian Diaspora and Armenia enter the most critical phase, litigation against Turkey, the problems for America can only grow worse given the Armenians' political connections especially to our Democrat Congress.

How will the Armenian National Committee of America take this new development?

Their web site has demands to pass the resolution. Nothing yet about this new development

(Don't anybody get their bowels in an uproar and start screaming, "Denier." No one is denying the Armenian genocide.)

Hence my “victory” point.

The thing is, the Dems have managed to do about *nothing* of what they promised their voters.... they can’t even override a veto.

See, what the Dhimmis didn’t grasp is that the Greek word for genocide (which is Latin: gens (clan, people, nation) + cide (murder) is

DEMOCIDE (demos + cide, well, cide is still Latin, I guess, so it’s half Greek/half Latin)

So the Dhimmirats Genocide Bill turns out to have been Democide! You’ve got to respect a bunch of politicians who can make fools of themselves in two (one and a half) languages all at once.

ROTFLMAO!

You might have a slight case of BDS!
Read your post again, and then explain to me how Pelosi’s and this treasonous and deranged Democrat majority House of Representatives failed political stunt is now somehow all really “Bush’s fault” by virtue of him ignoring them.

I say he ignored them to the perfectly correct degree, and produced the desired outcome.

This resolution should have been passed ages ago, it’s a shame we have to deal with it now and balance it with our wartime relations with Turkey.

By the way, it was brought up before. And it did pass. In 1976 and again in 1984.

Thus, there is only one reason for Congress to bring the issue up again -- to embarass Turkey and make it difficult for the President to prosecute the war in Iraq.

Draw your own conclusions.

No, look at the area above her eye’s, the shrunken void is a dead giveaway. God have mercy on her.

We know why they didn’t bring it up when Willie was there.

But what was going on those other times? There had to be a political reason.
