Candidates Hailed For Open Government Pledge (Obama, Brownback, RON PAUL!)

Candidates Hailed For Open Government Pledge

Congressman Ron Paul

Three presidential candidates (Illinois Senator Barack Obama, Kansas Senator Sam Brownback, and Texas Rep. Ron Paul) are being hailed by the Reason Foundation for putting their signatures on a pledge declaring that, should they win the presidency in 2008, they will issue an executive order during their first month in office instructing the entire executive branch to put into practice the Federal Funding Accountability and Transparency Act of 2006.

The act would create a Google-like search tool that will allow average Americans to see just how their tax dollars are being spent on federal contracts, grants and earmarks. The pledge was sent to every major candidate from each party.

"When government spends the people's money, it must be done with utmost possible transparency," said Congressman Ron Paul (pictured above), the first candidate to sign the oath. "Signing the Oath of Presidential Transparency was a no-brainer for me."

I think that it is very important that we all understand that the All-Holy George W. Bush is Always Right, and it is very important for our National Security that American Citizens have no idea whatsoever as to how their money is actually being spent.

We must always Trust the Government in All Things, because they're here to Help Us.

Senators Barack Obama and Sam Brownback, together with the Arch-Traitor Congressman Ron Paul, are clearly determined to bring down our Republic. We can only be Safe and Free if we trust the Government 100% in all things, forever, and let them spend our Money however they see fit. It's the only way that we can be truly Secure, it's Patriotic, and if you don't believe that, you must be a Terrorist Sympathizer. Oh, and by the way, Ron Paul personally Hates America and wants to kill your children.

Always Remember that. Never Forget. 9/11 and stuff. Ron Paul is a Traitor. Government knows best. Believe and Obey.

RON PAUL is the RIGHT Candidate for Pro-Life social conservatives.

RON PAUL is the RIGHT Candidate for Tax-Cutting fiscal conservatives.

RON PAUL is the ONLY 100% Anti-Terrorist candidate.

RON PAUL is the RIGHT Candidate for National Defense and Foreign Affairs.

RON PAUL is the RIGHT Candidate for the Bill of Rights.

RON PAUL is the RIGHT Candidate on Illegal Immigration.

RON PAUL is the ONLY socially-conservative Candidate defending the independence of the Christian Church against Federal "Faith-Based Socialism".

"I got to know President Reagan in 1976 when, as a freshman congressman, I was one of only four members of that body to endorse then-Governor Reagan’s primary challenge to President Gerald Ford. I had the privilege of serving as the leader of President Reagan’s Texas delegation at the Republican convention of 1976, where Ronald Reagan almost defeated an incumbent president for his party’s nomination. I was one of the millions attracted to Ronald Reagan by his strong support for limited government and the free-market. I felt affinity for a politician who based his conservative philosophy on '...a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom.' I wish more of today’s conservative leaders based their philosophy on a desire for less government and more freedom." – Ron Paul, Remembering Ronald Reagan

In 2008, I'm voting for the REAGAN REPUBLICAN.
I'm voting for former Vietnam Combat Flight
Surgeon, and Leader of Ronald Reagan's
Electoral Delegation from Texas: In 2008,
I'm Voting for RON PAUL!
"The greatest champion of conservative principles we have seen in Congress in the past quarter century."

They won’t let people know what’s going on at Area 51. I bet we won’t ever know how they got that name, or Hanger 18.

I couldn't care less about "Area 51". I don't actually believe in Aliens. At all.

But I would like to have the Right to inspect how every single one of my Tax Dollars is being spent. Fully Transparent, fully accounted down to the penny, on demand, when I ask. It's my money!

I bet you think I'm a Traitor for wanting to know how my own money is spent.

Whatever.

Political candidate promises have the same value as an NFL player’s contract or toilet paper - neither has much value and candidates know it.

There was a time when news organizations would track political campaign promises versus post-election action to hold the candidates accountable for their promises. But, that hasn’t happened for at least 20 years and probably closer to 30.

I put no stock in this promise whatso ever. ACTIONS always have and always will speak louder than phony, meaningless promises on the campaign trail. Don’t tell me what you are going to do, SHOW me that you are a person of honor and character and that you will stand behind your promises.

Then, MAYBE, we’ll talk!

There must be a mistake. I don’t see Hillary’s signature anywhere.

New Ron Paul Thread.

(I promise I won't accidentally transpose my feeble attempts at HG Wells plagiarism this time)

No mistake. Hillary doesn't WANT you to know how your own money is being spent. Hillary's a Patriotic American. She trusts the Government to do What's Best. So should you.

Only America-hating Traitors like Ron Paul ask the Government to actually display to the citizenry how their Money is being spent.

At last, my supremacy is recognized and given its due deference.

I'd summon EEE to post some nice pics of Wyler's packets but I've surmised he's being sued for plagiarism and is awaiting a hairplug procedure.

Nor do I see Romney's, Giuliani's, Hunter's, Tancredo's, or McCain's signature. Wonder why that is.....

Brief Overview of Congressman Paul’s Record:

All those Facts are 100% True. When Congress votes 434-to-1 to raise its own pay, give its members more benefits, or otherwise waste hundreds od billions of Dollars -- Ron Paul is is ONE who says, "No". Even at 434-to-1... he'll be the "1".

He's the only guy I've ever known who says, "Actually. I'd rather NOT have a Pay Raise -- because that would cost the Taxpayers more money."

THAT is Congressman Ron Paul.

So, MAYBE, we’ll talk?

It just won't seem like a Ron Paul thread without some Martian killing-machines.

The article is quite good. I was going to post it a few days back but wasn't sure if someone else had already done so.

For Ron Paul, signing this one is a complete no-brainer. It would have been more interesting if they'd tried to prevent him from signing it. I'm picturing a very angry slim but well-armed Texas gent, kicking down their doors and forcing them to produce the document so he could sign it.

This kind of thing really is Ron Paul's cup of tea. Too bad the other Republicans aren't willing to be as open. As usual, they give their backhand to any tax-limiting small-government organization that expects accountability in government.

Not at all

But there likely will be things, maybe small things, that are not published. Like if a President requests bottles of King Louis the 3rd, which is $160 per ounce. I don’t think you’d want to know that your money is going towards the President owning a $1000 bottle of alcohol.

Bad example, but all I could come up with.

You are NOT gonna let me live that down, are you??

"War of the Worlds: Global Dispatches". Nice little Sci Fi Book available HERE:

That's what I was toying with. 'Strewth, Honest to Saint Francis, or whatever.

But, apparently, I can't type up a little HG Wells-ish short story of my own, and just accidentally Cut&Paste it onto FR along with the carefully-constructed little Political essay, which I actually did intend to post -- OH NO!!

You see one opportunity for comedic relief, and the next thing I know I've got 17 oversized clowns climbing outta my volkswagen. Very nice, George, very cute.

Well, have your fun. I say, HARRUMPH!

Not only did America hating traitor Ron Paul blame America for 9-11, but I heard he *personally* aborted 4000 babies and bilked the Medicare/Medicaid system for hundreds of thousands of dollars!.

Can you pass the Gulf shrimp? I’m getting hungry over here!
