I taped a segment on the O'Reilly Factor for airing tonight to defend Free Republic against charges that it is a hate site. The segment will air in the 'D block' around 8:35 p.m. EDT and rerun at 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. EDT.
Rather than tell how it went, I'll leave it for folks to watch and decide for themselves. I hope I did right by FR.
We'll be having company tonight as some of Bill O'Reilly's two million-plus viewers check out FR for themselves. So please bear that in mind as you comment tonight. The Daily Kos is waging a very nasty personal campaign of retribution against O'Reilly. No sense in us piling on. Let's use this as an opportunity to show people why FR is the best conservative site on the web.

I stopped listening to O’Reilly on the radio and the TV program. He is so full of himself that he is delusional.
Be like trying to monitor a London neighborhood full of street lamp cams all at once.
The fact is, O’Reilly doesn’t like any website that doesn’t make him money — which means the only website he approves of is his own.
He hates the web because he can’t control it. He hates the web because he can’t have the government control it. He hates the idea that he is not a gatekeeper of information like the old days — that the web opens up opinion to people other than himself.
This is one of the key points to understand about O’Reilly. It colors every response he has to the internet. I mean, my God!...people are able to express themselves without having to pay their dues on “Inside Edition” or a paycheck from a legitimate media source. We can’t have that! It’s anarchy!

That's a lie. There are Guiliani supporters here today. Most of those banned either (a) lied about actual conservatives to promote Rudy or (b) threw themselves on their swords in some half-assed protest.

The crushing defeat of 'the establishment' on the amnesty issues really scared the elites I believe. The fight against it was organized mainly on the internet and talk radio. With people emailing friends and family, and those people reading about it through links. The 'powers that be' take notice when they get defeated by something, and they must be scared because they don't control all access to information anymore.

he said she was telling a lie about his site - from what i gathered, it was a kos plant that posted it - an explanation that is only good enough for his web site
I saw FR on The Factor tonight. I haven’t posted here in a while and wanted to pop in and give my 2 cents. Oreilly is probably throwing FR to the wolves so they won’t try to sabottage his site. I thought BOR was very rude. He had two guests on, but wouldn’t shut up and let them talk. Our spokeperson came across very rational and dignified. Kudos to Kristinn.
