Europeans still view Jews with suspicion

A majority of Europeans suspect local Jews of being more loyal to Israel than their host nations, and a large percentage insist the Jewish population exercises too much power in business and finance, according to the results of a new poll conducted across six European nations.

At least 50 percent of respondents in each of Britain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and Switzerland said they view the Jews in their countries as a potential fifth column that will always put Israel first.

The worst signs of widespread anti-Semitic sentiment were found in Hungary, where 61 percent of those polled said they think the Jews wield too much financial power.

Anti-Defamation League Director Abraham Foxman, whose organization commissioned the poll, said in a statement released to the press that the results reveal the underlying factors that gave rise to the Nazi Holocaust are still present in Europe.

“Millions of Europeans continue to accept a wide range of traditional anti-Semitic stereotypes and conspiracy theories,” said Foxman. “Despite the fact that individual governments and the EU have condemned anti-Semitism and sought ways to counteract it, these attitudes die hard and help incite and legitimize anti-Semitic acts, including violence against Jews.”

And yet followers of the Religion of Pieces living in Europe are as loyal as can be to their new homes.

Europe's stupidity and cowardice amazes and disgusts me.

They’ve managed to embrace feudalism, monarchism, imperialism, Nazism, communism, socialism, and Islamism...but Judaism...that’s the scary one!

I guess that's understandable considering how the Jews rounded up the Europeans and put them in death camps. Oh wait...

We should not hurry on any anti-missile defenses for western Europe, IMO.

One would think that business and finance was a good thing. I guess multiculturalism and welfare is more to be respected.

One would also think that if you lived in a nation, and was high up in the productive parts of the society and rather than being thought of a being a part of the society you were looked at not as a member of that society but as a separate part due to your race, it would perhaps be wise to have your loyalty elsewhere, anywhere else where...

Antisemitism is the shame of the western world. Too bad we learned so little from 1933-1945.

Wake up Europe: Its not your Jewish neighbors are not the threat and Israel is the best friend you will ever have against the real enemy.

One thing that may potentially be a problem in the future is the influence of Muslims on European attitudes toward the Jews. Though there's a disturbing amount of anti-Semitism among Europeans, they're at a lower level of disliking Jews than the Muslims who downright hate the Jews as a rule.

As the Europeans and the Muslims begin to have more and more problems with each other, there will be the natural tendency of some Europeans to try to find common ground with the Muslims to make their society more harmonious. One way some (many?) might try to "connect" with Muslims could be in upping their dislike of Jews to a level closer to the Muslims. Having a common enemy might be their method to deflect Muslim rage away from them and their type.

Always the Jews! What about the radical jihadi bastards they let in? They deserve what they get, and better wake up quick.

Stockholm syndrome. A lot of traditional socialists here are mad on feminism and gay rights. Its my feeling that they align themselves with Islam only because they are frightened of them. Still no excuse though.

Austria and Hungary do NOT surprise me, but Belgium and the Netherlands? I know that both countries have sizeable Muslim minorities, but not enough to skew the figure so high. Same goes for the UK, although two British Jews now living outside the UK (one in Florida, the other in California) have told me personally that anti-semitism is still more significant in the UK in terms of personal attitudes, rather than discrimination.

I’m sure if a polling agency had the guts to do a survey about it, European attitudes would be the same or worse for the Islamics in their midst. I know for certain that native Germans don’t trust Turkish immigrants at all to be loyal to Germany specifically or Europe generally.

However, even to ask such questions would be considered racist by the super-PC press over there—the attitudes of the common people are a different matter though.

I’d wager too that anti-Jewish anti-Semitism is LOWEST in Germany verses all the other major European countries...
